Stuckey and Lonnie are my heroes. Hell, I named my two young-uns Stuckey and Lonnie. And one of em is a girl. All us people down here is jes like Stuckey and Lonnie...
the voice is talking rubish, movie is about some Vietnam vet who didnt folow the orders in Vietnam war. they got murdered by Amerian government few years later in that place, true story or not, dont know. but this is the movie story about. cajun people didnt kill them,
One of my favorite movies! I don't have to turn my head when I watch it anymore. I still wonder about the ending, did they get rescued or not? I've wondered all these years.
Hype. Kent State is the real stuff where the bad stuff happens. People like to marginalize rural communities, thats all - because they never lived there nor understand the simple life most folks just want to have. All just hype.
A great film! Just like another Walter Hill film called The Warriors. A group of men outnumbered and in hostile territory trying to fight their way out! Powers Boothe really kicks ass here.

I suspect it is apocrphal (made up). I used to live in Lousiana and never heard anything about it.
