Tofu is delicious marinated in just soy sauce, sugar, red pepper flakes, black pepper, chopped green onions and minced garlic! You get the salty, with sweet, and a kick. serve with rice and oh boy that's all you need if you're a vegetarian. ^_^
@SimuLord Ya...I'd like to see you make that chocolate pie recipe of Alton's with Chicken... :-P I've gotten people who swore they'd never EVER eat tofu to eat that pie...just make sure you are using the right type of tofu! Anything other than silken (TYPE, not brand!), then the pie does not work.
The only thing I change from his recipe is to _thoroughly_ drain the tofu with lots of paper towels, use a regular graham cracker pie shell (instead of the oreo one) and cool for 8 hours instead of 2.
@SimuLord I would pay real money (if I had any) to see you eat that pie if it was made from chicken instead of tofu (this coming from an unabashed meat-lover)
@KuroiandNoukon Genetically modified foods are one that have been modified by injecting genes from animals, viruses and bacteria into the cells nucleus to produce certain traits (in Monsanto's case, a resistance to Round-Up pesticide). Health risks include allergies, new diseases, toxicity, reproductive issues, organ damage, etc.
Where does you soy come from? If Monsanto is involved in any step of your tofu's production (and there is an 80% chance that it is), your soy has been genetically modified...and what will that do you you?
@Talondas Can you explain to us what does it mean by genetically modified food and does it really cause more harm than good? Just flinging words around doesn't make you right.
Oh geez relax. Its phoenetical impossible to end a word with a Y sound or for any soft consanant. Don't believe me? Think I am stupid. Record yourself and slow it down. Some people have it more pronounced then others but we all have it.
check out actor christopher walken cooking on imcooked(dot)com a new site just like youtube but for cooking only its really cool check it out and upload any cooking videos you have
Tofu rocks. I used to steal whole rows of diced pieces off my mom's cutting board when she made soup.

There's nothing tofu does that chicken breast doesn't do about fifty times better. Soy is wretched stuff.

Is it just me, or does AB say [soui] and not just [soi]? Its like it's a two syllable word when he's expounding on the various "sow-ee" products.

notice how he puts the emphasis on the second syllable of tofu, trying to preserve the japanese pronounciation of an americanized japanese food

Tofu is great, IF you can eat it!
Soy is one of the most allergenic foods out there.
Right up there with Strawberries.

The great thing about tofu isn't the absortion of various flavors, it's showing all the people online that it does :)

Yeah?!?, why does he says S-o-y-e-e ?
Maybe it's because he southern.
But the narrator does it to.
Weird...
AlanCumming 4 years ago
I think he is southern.. from what I've heard anyways.
BellaxVengeance 4 years ago
Actually, it has nothing to do with him being from the south. It is no different then some one saying patato or potato.
I think that his way is actually suppose to be the correct way but us Americans read it as soy.
