Grand Funk Railroad sold out Shea Stadium faster than the Beatles did and sold millions of records during the early 70's . There songs and lyrics also had a huge impact on the soldiers during the Viet Nam war. Why aren't they in it ? I guess songs like "Dress You Up" are way more important for Rock N Roll.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is actually better defined as the Rock Era Hall of Fame (music historians assert that the Rock era began in 1955 with Bill Haley & The Comets' Rock Around The Clock). Even if you hate Madonna, which I know many people do (and just as many love her), she does belong in this hall of fame, due to the reasons listed by Shakeshack78. I agree that many more still need to be admitted, including the artists you listed, but there's no reason to hate on Madonna.

There are jazz, blues, country, rock, pop, rap, R&B, dance acts inducted. It should be called the Music Hall of Fame but RNRHOF sounded catchier I guess. For her longevity & impact on pop culture & music overall, Madonna certainly deserved to be inducted. Just because you don't like her and/or her music doesn't mean she isn't deserving.
