it's not really halter, it's called All Breed Conformation 3 and Over. Since this is an open horse show you are allowed to show in a bridle if you have a more hunter type horse. (I just don't get my APHA outfits dirty for local shows so I show in hunter attire. Plus normally HUS is right after the conformation class.) Halter is pretty much just a term used for conformation that's developed from stock breed "halter classes" Where a western type show halter must be used. I hope this helped!
i love your horse!i have a appolossa horse and a pinto pony! i love ur paint! i show jumping walk trot canter and halter i like halter the best though (i dno why...) and every1 can o halter engline46wife not just western ppl....
Your mare is BeAuTiFuL! I am drooling. I love her unique markings and I wish you all the luck in the world. (P.S. You go girl- In the english attire!)
Your horse's markings are so unique! I kept watching to see both sides! Congrats on the class--as soon as I saw her competition, I knew you had it! She is beautiful and well put together. How old is she? Good luck to you both! :)
Because at an open show it is not a western class. It is open to all types hence why you had fesians and arabs and quarters in there. Yes, it would be show in a western halter in a showmanship or halter outfit at a paint show, but Open shows you may show in any tack suitable for your attire (Can be wenstern, hunter, dressage, saddleseat... so long as the tack and attire match.) Hope that helps you understand a little better. :)

I'll never understand why english riders insist on showing at halter. It's a western class and should be done in a halter.
