Oh and Australia told the US drug company UP YOURS when they tried to mess with our PBS (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme) which provides us with drugs incredibly cheaply. Rice under the Korea agreement is actually a strategic move by the US. It's purpose is to exploit the economic rivalry between South Korea and Japan - by allowing favourable trade terms to Korean industries it is meant to pressure Japan to enter into a similar agreement and a liberalised market in rice is demanded by the US for such an agreement. Don't do it and let Korea perceivably outcompete Japan in the American market, or do it and say goodbye to their massively protected rice market.
