This is an early recording by Bing, maybe late 20's-early 30's.Bing sang it again in the 1948 Emperor's Waltz, both times was sensual ,and beautiful as usual.
Big does this very well. I love his singing, but this got me thinking about where I heard this first. I heard it by th Comedian Harmonists. in German. I am neither native English speaking nor German speaking but I speak both languages and I must say this is a song that must be sung in German. I have leaned singing my self and
I know what a difference a language can do **********
I've only heard (an orchestral version of) this on The Emporers waltz.. both as a song and an overture, along with The Kiss In Your eyes, it's a lovely soundtrack
With Eddie Lang on guitar and Joe Venuti on violin...perfection His later recording with John Scott Trotter for film The Emperor's Waltz is also very good..
bingcrosby1903: also I have uploaded another Bing's rare recording with Rosemary Clooney. It is "Meet me tonight in dreamland". Maybe you wish to hear it too?
His voice was sensational in the 20s and early 30s. The Comedian Harmonists do a superb version of this as well, Ich Kusse Ihre Hand Madame from 1928.

30's. This was popular tune at the time. This song is the title song over the credits of the big, all star, hit MGM film "Dinner at Eight" from 1933 (highly recommended). I've never heard Bing Crosby's version - very nice. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for uploading this lovely melody, which Bing sang so beautifully in the film THE EMPEROR WALTZ. The movie hasn't been on tv in ages, so it was nice to hear Bing sing it on YOU TUBE.
bingcrosby 1903: do you have a live/film version of Bing Crosby's "Brother Can You Spare a Dime" (if there is one)? It is my favourite Bing Crosby song.
if there was a video of this...i know it's impossible.i really love this old tune...heard this before as a classic guitar version buy a Japanese guitarist, wanna know more about the song and this singer, which genre it goes like?
Well, im not sure about a video, could be a snippet in one of the early bing movies, about genre its kind of hard to pinpoint, the genre of the time was swing and early jazz... if you want to know more about bing let me know... that will take a message! Glad to see someone interested.
This song comes from a German movie of the same title in 1929 with Marlene Dietrich whose character is a married woman who is wooed by the singer. Check out Fritz Wunderlich's version. I believe Richard Tauber was the original artist for this song from the movie.
i thought i'd heard ALL of bing's best recordings, but i've never heard this one. sounds like bing in the very early 30's or even '29 bing.

I remember Benny Hill singing a tidbit of this song with two of his comedian comrades. They played 3 escorts from an escort service.

Lang and Venuti are the best sidemen ever. Bing was such a great whistler too. I could listen to these guys all day.

Lovely melody- thank you.The two dogs in the film - The Emperor Waltz outshone both Bing Crosby and Joan Fontaine.A must see film.
