Lol... You can't just look something like this up in a record guide. Anyone that owns a guide knows that they're listed by group or label and not by song title. You'd have to read the book from the start to fish out a track by meerly it's title.

I want to start by saying you are all wrong.. my dad Mike Rampino (Ramps) was a singer as a teenager in a group call THE TROYS from Schnectady ave in East New york Brooklyn. They made this song i know one of the other singers was nicknamed Irish. When they went to record the song the record label said they would have to use Dickey Dell if they were to record it, being teenagers they agreed. Ding Dong the song's original title was written as a slower ballad but was perked up to appeal to teens.

The orgininal song was performed by Dicky Dell and the Ding Dongs and my father was the lead singer, Dicky Dell. He was 15 when he recorded it with Dragon Records in 1958.  It was a great surpise for him to come across this video. Thank you for posting it.

Ask Dickey if he remembers Ramps my dad would love to speak to him..they were great times from what my dad tells us.. I am one of 6 children and he would sit us all on the couch as tots and he would give us all something to sing and we would harmonize. I remember watching SHA NA NA when they opened the show with this song he was running around the house crying and jumping up and down and i remember the phone ringing and it was Irish asking if he saw it..they were crying together.
