I drew total of four pages/frames. The program fill in eight filler pages between pages. So in total of 24 (+original 4) pages are used to create this animation. Filler lines are calculated by just taking the differences between corresponding points from two lines and divide by eight. It uses a very simple calculation.
Despite only four key frames, it does look pretty neat. If you scrutinize it closely, looking for mistakes, you can see a few things that look weird, but otherwise it looks cool and very smooth.
it seems that the program is doing some sort of spline interpolation.. im wondering can the number of control points change during the animation sequence??
also, are you blending from page-to-page or are you factoring in more than 2 pages per animation? i could sort of discern the transition points in the animation ^_^

You can do this with Flash as well.

Except Flash isn't free. ;)
Or at least, not to my knowledge. I suppose there might be some free version, with this functionality, that I don't know about.

I should have commented on the video too...

How many drawings was this? 4? 8? And what does this program do exactly, transform from one image to the next? This looks pretty cool regardless.
