We used to be able to buy "Bon Bons" as a kid over here in england years ago, not sure if you still can, haven't seen any in years now, but I would imagine you still can somewhere.
I love watching sweets, chocolates being made, I skived a day off work once many years ago and went to "Blackpool" famous seaside town on North West coast, once there, I saw how they made "Blackpool Rock" was fascinating, really simple and yet I have never forgotten that day... ha ha
