and while we are on this topic: why do korean bboys in this video have no groove whatsoever?? nice tricks but no musicality, might as well just turn off the music and tell the DJ to piss off...as lomng as bboying includes music, it should be done ON BEAT!
in korea/japan, bboying is a competitive sport - there is loads of money involved, and it has become very commercial. bboy crews are professional performers and in korea/japan there is many more incentives to be a bboy.
in russia it is still quite raw, there is very little funding. so we can't really compare these bboys on the same level
its not kinda true. dont know bout in japan ; but in korea, just few years ago~ bboys were one of the most minor people. People hated bboys. But they started to dominate the world ~then it became very popular in korea....Korea bboys made them by scratch.. personaly Russia is doding almost same as korea did few years ago.~ go top 9
i would say in Korea bboying is almost like a national sport now, more so in Japan. You have to understand that in Korea being a bboy is a lucrative career, whereas in Russia it is still just a hobby and few people give a damn. By contrast, Korea now advertises bboying as one of its major tourist attractions.
@benchlenov what kind of fucking excuse is that? is sprinting a national sport in jamaica? No, but Usain Bolt beat the fuckn shit out of any other runner. Do you know why one bboy is better than the other? Probably because he practiced more. End of discussion. Not because that bboyers country has a bigger bboy population. Money doesn't make a bboy better. practice does.
@lupinyonsei first off, thanx 4 replying to my 1-year-old post to this 2-year-old battle..
what i said is not an "excuse" -- it is reality! if you compare bboy scenes in these countries, it's a totally different world. if you are a fan of jap/korean bboys, you can just say so, but it won't disprove the accuracy of what i described.
money makes the world go round, especially in dance! you think many people will want to be bboys, when they KNOW they can't make a living with that??
@lupinyonsei in korea you can actually make bboying into a lucrative profession, so there is incentive to practice. sheeed, in korea even professional gaming is a mainstream "competitive sport," where people actually go to the venue to *watch* the games other people are playing for money...street dancing and bboying is also extremely popular -- people will come out to watch anything and there tons of cash to be made from that. in russia and the ukraine it's still mostly underground
@lupinyonsei That is obviously not what i said, and putting words in my mouth will not help your case. All you see is PRACTICE, which is certainly important in developing any skill, no one denies that. What I see is the BIGGER PICTURE: in Kor/Jap bboying is at a whole another level. There are numerous bboying schools, events, performances where money can be made. As a direct result of this, bboying is more popular and more people are training to become bboys (cont.)
@benchlenov i can tell your ignorant by putting korea/japan in one classification. have u been there? I cant talk about korea, but in japan, hiphop dancing, locking, popping is popular. bboying... is not. very few know about it.
korea, it may be popular but still that doesnt mean anything.
America has the biggest number of athletes. why does usain bolt from jamaica (a weed smoking lazy country) win? please answer this usain bolt paradox will you?
@lupinyonsei lol..you can tell i am ignorant, yet you completely avoid my main argument and go off on some unrelated topic of a jamaican athlete? let's stay on topic, shall we?
i included japan only because there were a few japanese bboys in this video, but the majority are korean and my point still stands. but you say "very few" people know about bboying in japan?? that's BS...japan has always been the first in asia when it comes to receiving american influences and has a long bboy history
@benchlenov i live in japan. im japanese you fool. and i love bboying. and i have to FUCKN SEARCH AROUND for anything related to bboying. i also live in osaka the second biggest city in japan. so don't talk shit.
why does usain bolt win the 100m dash? running is not popular in jamaica. yet usain bolt outran every other athlete, even americans (where track and field is more common)
@lupinyonsei lol, sucks for you man, maybe you should move to korea...
with your usain references, what are you trying to imply? you said practice was the most important factor, so it follows usain quit smoking grass and just practiced his ass off...yet, i think what you really want to say is: Koreans (and Japanese) are just better at bboying naturally. is that what you think?
@benchlenov usain won despite being in a poor nation very little funding, where sprinting is not popular, not as advanced training facilities. so why should russia "suck" despite it also recieves little funding, bboying is not as popular. and although usain may have genetic advantages bboying doesn't require genetic factors as much so it seems to me that these russian bboys have a BIGGER chance of making it big than usain bolt did.
@benchlenov no thats what you seem to be claiming. If usain can win the 100m despite being in an underleved nation where spriting is not popular, than russian bboys could win despite bboying not being as popular. As long as you practice hard enough, anything is possible. So don't just say, oh we from russia where bboying is still raw. thats why we cant compare to the asian bboys.
@lupinyonsei you say "in korea it may be popular but that doesn't mean anything"...how can it not mean ANYTHING? you don't even make any sense man!
let me give you a simple example: in korea kimchi is very popular, which is why they produce the best kimchi in the world. now you're gonna say: "russian kimchi sucks, coz they didn't PRACTICE enough!!" and why do you think no one practices making spicy cabbage in russia? simple: because very few people GIVE A DAMN about it there.
@lupinyonsei (cont.) In Russia, a country with a population THREE TIMES LARGER than Korea, there are probably fewer bboys than in Seoul alone. If you can follow this simple logic, you should be able to understand that one country produces thousands of new well-trained bboys every year, while the other has maybe a few hundred at best. Outstanding bboys in Korea get sponsored and get to travel to international events and make money. In Russia, you are pretty much ON YOUR OWN!
@lupinyonsei That is why with 150 million people, there is only ONE bboy crew (Top 9) that can attend international events. The other crews (the few that exist) have no funding to travel around and make a living from bboying.
@benchlenov : It is really good to see people from all over the world really enjoying this. Hope to see more performance like this. May be next time in Russia. They look really good and that may make it more popular in Russia.
it sounds like you're saying that Gamblerz are the weakest of Korean Bboys, when in fact Gamblerz are like one of the top bboy crews. But true Russia cant win most of the Korean crews.
Mortal Kombat(win) vs. T.I.P. - KB Bboy Masters Korea 2007 (Judges picked MK, But Ryoma from MK got on the mic and admitted they lost even though the judges favored T.I.P.)

So korea doesn't always at international events. xD
блин от России и Украины - одни флейворы (только колобок достойно выступил),такое впечатление,что не нашлось нигде сильных бибоев. Весь батл дорожки бегали ацтой короче. Корея-Япония зачёт!
Why does everyone ask that... The only country allowed to have more than one crew is US/Russia, Physicx could not come here since only 1 crew member is allowed, and Born came. Besides Physicx wasn't even here, he was somewhere else.

@benchlenov ohhhhh, so i guess the richest people are the best bboys? bill gates must be amazing.
again. money does not mean anything. simply, the koreans practiced more than the russians. THAT is why the koreans are better.
