Aww I moved and my Duck Lucky went in back in the giant pond- there's tons if other ducks and geese. He won't even come by me anymore! Also, he can't fly becauses he's a Rouen Drake I believe, there just too heavy... So I was wrong,it's not be bcuz he's fat xD how can I get him to come back
My male duck Lucky is just like him! With the green head. But his chest isn't that much of redish. He's soo cute! I saw another mallard in the corn field by the flooded water. I brung Lucky out... He met him, they swam for 3 seconds, and lucky was biting him... So he started to fly. Lucky can't bcuz he eats bread so he's bigger xD as I type this, he's trying to attack a squirrel that wants his bread! LOL
I have a pair of ducks kinda like that but they are mates for life and they love each other, Marley Moo is a White Pekin ,and Linky Moo is a Mariana Mallard, not a regular Mallard he has a color morph molt after mating season very hard to explain and even the vet i went to said he was i thought Mariana Mallards where extinct but apparntly he is one
Nice video on feral ducks. The white ducks look like Pekin's. These Pekin's were probably someone's pets that were abandoned and left to die. Because Pekin's are white, it's hard to determine the gender when looking at their plumage (I also looked for the curled feathers). Towards the end of the video, the white Pekin hen bonded with the wild Mallard based on her behavior, This could be to help her survive, i.e. when foraging since she can't fly, protection from duck rape, etc.
That "AFLAC" line was unexpected! LOL

Technically not feral, because feral refers to a descendant of domestic ducks.

Looks like two males chasing a female to mate. Note the head bobbing as part of the display ritual as well.
