  • simply beautiful

  • A VERY cool sophisticated Lady. XXX

  • @ 0:58 nicki minaj

  • i didn't know that her tammi recored the same song

  • 1:56 HOLY MOLY nicki minaj?!

  • @ffishfinger i know

  • I LOVE MOTOWN!

  • The great Barry White described Brenda as the greatest female soul singer ever, and I absolutely agree. Nobody compares to her

  • @ Themotownboy I too have been a great Brenda Holloway fan (going back to the 60's!) and this track is excellent, I like your added picture of her with Berry Gordy Jr too, I once saw Kim Weston perform here in Brighton UK in the 70's and she too was absolutely brilliant, she is still singing like Brenda is, amazing after all these years don't you think? JOHN

  • BRENDA recorded this too?!?! Wow....I've always liked this song since I heard Stevie's version but both Brenda & Tammi sang it beautifully. Brenda should DEFINITELY be on the next season of UNSUNG because if anyone is its her!

  • I prefer this version over Tammi's (love that one too) but they both make me crave to hear Stevie's version, which in my opinion is the ultimate version.

  • Brenda - sublime and strong. DIVA!

  • Not a bad version but Tammi's delivery was CLEARLY better to ME. There was more range, sweeter and more feeling in Tammi's version. I still rate this version ahead of Stevie's. Just my opinion.

  • Tammi was singing it to someone you know, you can feel it and it makes you cry.... Brenda's is professionally done, even in some ways better, but it lacks that true dedication.... Stevie's is the best.

  • I'm like you nikkichips71...I LOVE Tammi Terrell's version of anything! But Brenda's raspy soulful rendition is just as phenomenal. Berry Gordy was famous for letting different artists release the same song at the same time just to make it more popular, thereby making him more money. He did it with Heard it through the Grapevine, using Marvin and Gladys Knight & The Pips, remember?

  • pretty lady, whatever happened to her?

  • stunning, best version by a mile!

  • both good i love the song anyway but tammis is the better of the 2 but stevie does both hands down.

  • This is good, but Tammi takes this one.

  • I like this but much prefer the richness of Tammi's voice. Both ewomen so extremely beautiful.

  • Nice but I give it to Tammi. Tammi sang this from the gut.

  • i like all three.. tammi had a sweetness then mrs brenda has like an attitude almost and stevie versions is funky and straight telling the chick how he feels. i did not mean to thumbs this down. i appologize

  • TAMMI KILLED this song!!!

  • I think Tammi's is a tad hotter. She sounded so sexy in her version. BUT Brenda's is sultry as a lot of her songs. Motown had some singing woman in their company and it amazes me how each one had her own touch of putting her mark on a song given them. Even the young Carolyn Crawford sang her face off on her earllier songs. Someone please post "You've Changed Me" by Brenda. That song is a Smokey knockout!

  • I like both versions...never realized that Stevie had written it in his teens...

  • This one is alright, but I just heard the Tammi version and I'm in love with it. This is alright tho.

  • Lovely version, but not as good as TT's version for me.

  • I LOVE THE RASPY NES OF HER VOICE VERY SEDUCTIVE & SEXY

  • I have to say I love both versions. Tammi's version of this song, in my opinion, was more sentimental to me for some strange reason. She sounds vulnerable when she sang it but it's still beautiful. Whereas, Brenda but alot of fire into it to make the song a bit more interesting. Either way, Brenda did this song justice and I love it.

  • The Song it self is beautiful as long as who ever is covering it can sing its always going to be a hit. I am only 32 and was pleasantly surprise to hear Tammi version (as I only knew of Stevie's) and I am not familiar with Brenda but her version is nice as well.

  • SO BEAUTYFUL HER AN TAMMI ARE BOTH TALLENTED WOMEN SHOWIN TRU GODLY GIFTS ...

  • i've known this as stevie's song - the motwon boy says - co written by stevie - whaddaya know??? nice correction

  • Stevie had a flair of writing this song for Brenda Holloway and Tammi Terrell before he sings this in 1980. Big Time!!!

  • I LOVE BRENDA HOLLOWAY!!! Have done a few shows for children and families with her, she's the BEST! WATTS represents! MORE LOVE!!!

  • The trip of this all is that Stevie wrote a timeless piece of music as a mere teenager

  • sorry I like her version much berret than Tammi. Hope I don't offend any one.

  • @mashallw - No offense taken....I think most everyone likes both versions even if they prefer one over the other.

  • i like this version but tammis is the better one,i mean if i were to pick between a hot dog and this version id buy a hot dog,and dont get me wrong i love brenda and my dad was good friends with her, still a great song for her.

  • ist heard this version on radio show at Prestatyn this year, marking a very special weekend, got engaged to a lovely man...

  • To be honest me being a lover of motown music idk why they even put ms.holloway on this track; It only belongs to miss tammi terrell

  • didn't know she did a version as well, Its a little too rough for me prefer the Stevie and Tamii version.

    Brenda is still the hotness!!!

  • Brenda voice sounds so soft, almost like a falsetto on this song.

  • Wow, very nice! Thanks for sharing! Wish I had the studio tracks of this one. Especially the strings/violin.

  • wtf. i cant find the song i want. lol. its a female singer and its not stevie or brenda or tammi.

  • @shaziscoollike I think the version you are talking about is by kirk whalum called all i do

  • @Mutatedgrunt sorry thats not it. its sung by a female

  • It's on Kirk Whalum's album "For You" but the singer is Wendy Moten she is the Guest vocalist for that song. I still love Tammi's version more!

  • @shaziscoollike Is it maysa leaks version ?

  • @idaslpdhr nope. the womans voice is softer. i just gave up and settled for stevies version.

  • @shaziscoollike I KNOW WHAT UR TALKING ABOUT i been looking for that version too but i dont know the lady name either sorry

  • omfg me too. i heard it on sirius, it wasn't any of those people, blah.

  • I have debated for years over whose version I prefer - Brenda's soft but rugged heart tugging version or Tammi's sweet n innocent captulating style - still cannot decide as both versions are classics and are equally good as each other - well done for posting this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @nikkichips71 I Agree, Both Bring A Different Style...Im Really Hooked To Tammi's

  • love brenda version never knew it was done in stereo !! where did this come from ??

    Thanks for posting

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Brenda was a great talent and gets largely ignored. I am from Detroit and there she was a BIG STAR an enormously talented woman.

So many younger kids are discovering this great music. Glad to have a partner in crime.

  • I think Brenda's version is great...I wish I had Tammi Terrell's version in stereo...

  • Cute..nice version as well..better by Tammi and Stevie tho

  • I like this version! It's nice and soothing!
