I love this...a hard working man, living his life on what the factory pays. I see it as though the factory is like the life giver. without it, they wouldn't be able to build a house or have a family. <3
@backtoearth2 That's not necessarily true of all communist states. He also describes it specifically as a "working man's salary" and how it was mocked. If it was communistic, then there would be no differentiation between salaries and no mocking of them.
@Dracoman090 hes being mocked by noncomunist people and its a "working mans salary" coz the goverment have all the mony and are the only people who enjoy communism coz there "more equal"
@backtoearth2 You have no lyrical evidence to support that, kind of like you have no evidence of the lyrics pointing to communism. You also state that the government is the only party which enjoys communism, despite the narrator clearly enjoying his position. He celebrates the factory, not equality, not his brethren. It's love for manual labor and working for what you earn. Your conjecture that it is about communism is completely unfounded.
@Dracoman090 i had a idear about a song and all you doing is bitching at me I just want to enjoy electric six can you stop bitching at me i have other things to do
@backtoearth2 I mean, hell, I hear this song and all I think of is Walt Kowalski from "Gran Torino." He strikes me as being the kind of guy who took a lot of pride in his work, and is now bitter at being forced into retirement.
@Dracoman090 in comunism as in the capitalism of the 1850s-1980s people lived from what the factories gave them. The song is pointing to a "working man" liefestyle which existed in both systems and then died out or is still dying. However, thats just my opinion.
Three cheers for the factory!

@Dracoman090 He is sarcastic about his "love" for the factory.
YellowBlackbird12 4 months ago
@Dracoman090 Actually this song is a clearly criticizes the Capitalism and love for the factory is "sarcastic" lets see:
Life in 360 degrees : criticize the 360 degrees performance evaluation system in factories
Doing heavy lifting destroyed my knees: i think this is clear
Maybe one day I take a day off or three: it's nearly impossible to take day off
...how factory consumed me: i think its clear
MrLogicalp 2 months ago
@Dracoman090 some more:
Maybe one day i'll get my foreman to see that productivity is going up in the factory because of me: never appreciated or rewarded
And here comes the Communism:
Maybe one day its underlock and key, we can start a colony for people who used to be people in the factory like me

how odd that by consciously trying to write songs that don't mean anything they ending up writing songs that do mean something
