The first picture is Lady Mary's Fair which was around Yeoman Shore. One or two are of The Vaults, the area behind the old Town House which was demolished to allow the building of the Caird Hall and City Square. Thanks for posting these marvellous photographs!
49secs and repeated at 2.08....looking up barrack street fae the howff gate, next tae the army recruitment office...only the building on the far right remains :-)
@hunga224---1:14 St mathews church broty ferry road--there was a cooperage works behind it,commonly known as the barley,it was on st mathew street, also known as mathews brae.
1:16 Caledon shipyard ,outside the blacksmiths shop.
Had great time trying to figure out where these places were! However, as I was born in Lochee, I know for certain that 0.56 is the South Road and 1.47 is the old tram shed in Lochee beside the church whose name I can`t remember. What a sorry state Lochee is in now - not much life left! Thanks for posting!
@BillDFC - i was brought up just down from the high kirk - the photo you see - 36 secs looks over a private tennis court - that is the changing lodge you can just see in the foreground - i along with other lads used to hike the wall an play football on the court as the tennis court was abandoned circa - 1975 - 1979 - at the very far right corner you can just make out an arch at the wall - this was the law tunnel an old underground rail line which came out at hill street - houses built over now
I think, with the help of google street view, that 1:31 is the bottom of the seagate looking up to Blackscroft. The garage is now McLiesh's, the tenement on the right is now the bus station and the one on the left is now the gay bar. Basically standing ootside the corfu keba shop efter the Deja!
0.37 is the church on Kinghorne Road looking up from Minard Crescent
1.11 looks like Castle Street - McLeish Brothers building
1.28 is looking down Meadowside from Victoria Road
2.39 looks like the old Railway station (gothic building on left with Tay Hotel in the background) - maybe looking up from where the Discovery is now?
2.34 is where lochee primary is now. dryburgh in the back ground. the white house at the botom left is the corner of gray st. cheers hooly. brilliant picts.
hooly ross here i think i need to ask my dad about most of them. i do recognise a few but that it only o few i do hope other people post comments coz im dying to find out more 153secs definitely the church hall on princes street next to boomerang

@241244 It looks like the church next to the old tram shed at 1.47 is St. Luke's Parish Church in High Street Lochee.

You are not permitted to take photo's of the High Kirk. Why not? Because it's against the Law.

@blinkypoo The Dundee to Newtyle railway, which ran through the tunnel, was the first passenger railway in Scotland and the station was in Ward Road.
You can still see where the track ran up Drummond Street.

Most of these places are gone, but here's my guesses:
0:21 Nethergate/Union Street?
0:56 - South Road, Lochee
1:02 - could have been behind the Pillars
1:06 - could be old farmhouse at Strips of Craigie, where Arbroath Road meets Kingsway East. The power lines were erected c1935, taken down 2009
1:42 - St Roque's Mill (still there) looking up Blackscroft (gone!)
1:53 - St John's (Baptist) Church, Albert Street (still there)
2:02 - The Dighty
2:30 - Wellgate (Claude Alexander the clue)

In the last photo you can see the West Station in the background and the Mather's Hotel.
Albion lorry in the foreground (could be my dads!)
Looks like Riverside Drive near to the Tay ferry terminal.

I was also unable to recognise most of the areas pictured here. I wonder if the photos are actually all Dundee views?
I'm sure the Dundee Library would be interested in these rare photos.
