With unilateral hearing loss, she will never be able to localize sounds. The brain uses timing and loudness cues (the lag time it takes for a sound to hit one ear versus the other and the loudness difference between the two). She might be compensating by visual cues.
shes biting cuase she is a pup you can expect that until she is about 2 probably. no is not going to help the problem i suggest clicker training do some researc h on it. she thinks you are playing with her. just make sure you give her lots of love and attention and work with her and she will grow out of it
This video was posted over two years ago, Daisy did grow out of it after a few months. To reassure people, we now have a well rounded (although slightly odd) Dalmatian that doesn't bite. This was just a phase! :)
She was BAER tested with unilateral hearing so you're half right! :) Despite having only one working ear she can hear much better than we can though - she did have trouble with resolving the direction of the noise for a while but she's much better at it now, I think she can work on the tone of the sound to work out where it's coming from.
I have two male dalmatians, they both get'nippy' when they are exited. One is a year old and the other is 7 months and he chews everything! He keeps on pinching my washing up sponges off the side and shredding them. Your little girl is beautiful, what food do you feed her on? Both of mine have really sensitive tummys and i find it hard to find a food that agrees with them. x
I'm from Croatia and I have one Dalmatian called Oggy (Dalmatians are Croatian breed of dogs originating from region called Dalmatia)... The thing with dalmatians is that they are very playful and even agressive in a way, they are not easy to handle xD
nah it's not dangerous dalmatians are naturally like that. that's why sometimes you hear of dalmatians biting their owners (kids) because they weren't tried properly
We got our 2 baby dally's at the from the same litter 8 years ago...our coffee table has never been the same since...Yours will settle down...just put on some gloves ha....wouldn't live without them for the world!!!
Oh the fun of a teething puppy, when are dal was like that we went throught 20 different toys to find one she wouldn`t chew through and the black Kong was the best because we would put peanut butter in it and she stay there for hours trying to get the peanut butter out :)
Only just started teething in the past couple of weeks (two dropped out so far, I think she's eating them though as I haven't found them yet!). Biting isn't as bad as it was though, even with teething! Daisy was just being a typical puppy I think :)
OMGSH! SHE SEEMS SOO HAPPY AND PRECIOUS! lol

My dalmation is seven and she still bites when she is challenged. They are very highly strung dogs.

I still have all my fingers :-) No, puppys do explore with their mouth quite a bit - they do grow out of it eventually :)
