That was great! Funny that my wife and I plan to visit these exact two places on our way back from Texas in May. We are buying a Mini and then driving it back here to Oregon. Mesa Verde is our first stop and then we head to the Arches, then to The City of Rocks in Idaho. Any good advice on the trip or tours would be great. Looks beautiful...Later, Finsterfoto
There are a number of things to see in that area, if you have the time and don't mind backtracking. Chaco Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley, Hovenweep. Farther west - Upper and Lower Antelope (slot canyons, east of Page, AZ), Zion, Bryce, Kodachrome Basin, Escalante Staircase Rd (Hwy 12) to Capitol Reef. I love to shoot in UT, but it is a pain to get between Arches/Canyonlands and the other spots unless you have the time. Have a great trip home.
