@whispperson - I was a teenager when she hit her peak with Kenny, and Dottie made a huge impression on me, soul to soul. I thought the movie that Michele Lee produced and starred in was very tasteful and well done, and celebrated the joyful, loving person Dottie was, and how much she loved performing, and her fans. Love her take of "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" and especially "Broken Lady" -
Nobody could sing a tearjerker like Miss Dottie. She was one of the greatest vocalists out there and should be in the Hall of Fame. One could know, without ever reading her biography that she's known heartaches in life. Once doesn't sing like that without knowing how to cry first!!!! God bless you Miss Dottie......... R.I.P.
@cmlbob Well put. And I was mesmerized by her biography. Don't know of anyone that better combined crystal-clear tones, laser-like pitch, and aching emotion in one package. God bless you, indeed, Dottie, you left a legacy.
She sings with such conviction and rich emotion. This song brings back memories of a love I once had for a man. I thought he was the love of my life. It turned out I really was that fool. Love the song.
@CountryMusic98 In the country industry Dottie has been forgotton when's the last time she ever got a mention, when she died the CMA'S or ACM'S didnt even do a tribute, she is'nt even in the hall of fame. But at least fan's like us havent forgotton.
oh well
