Herb Alpert (trumpet, vocals, piano, Arp 2600, percussion), Steve Gadd (drums), Manolo Badrena (drums), Randy Badazz (drums, percussion), Andy Armer (keyboards), Abraham Laboriel (bass), Steve Schaeffer (drums), Bob Findley (trumpet), Bill Reichenbach (trombone), Ernie Watts (tenor sax), Tim May (guitar), Mike Lang (keyboards), and special guest Peter Frampton (guitar solo on "The Factory")...and others.
@CaptBadazz Hi Randy. Herb Alpert, Andy Armer and You made a great job on this song. I do have all the Albums from you guys, including this one that goes "Beyond" my imagination!!!
Yes, I have this album on LP... Listened to him a lot in high school; this tune was VERY memorable. It is unusual for him; the album. Another great tune I liked was 'Behind the Rain' from "Rise".
Saw him live playing some awesome avantgarde jazz stuff and then discovered my moms actually had a few albums of him, This was one of 'em. A damn shame most people only know him from the Tijuana Brass.
Awesome! Just encaptivating...

@rawfishe I bought this album in 1980 soon as it came out. And yes, "The Factory" has to be one of the scariest songs ever recorded!

Rise was a gold record and this one was close

Yea. Can't find it on CD. Emailed him about it several years ago.

@tallthinwavy3 Yeah, he's produced a lot of material, but most
of it flopped...you can only get the hits. No money incentive
to release this stuff on CD just for a few 1000 souls.

I've been a fan of Herb's since the late 60s. "The Factory" and "Beyond" are my 2 favorite songs of his. Very chilling, industrial feel.

Any chance of this album ever being released on CD/MP3? Shouldn't be that difficult.

Yeah, just can't get why there isn't a CD version....
