MarineBlue, sorry for the slow response. I paint mostly from the photo. I did paint outdoor when the weather is allow. I find it more flexible to paint from photo as i can paint anytime at the comfort of my studio without have to deal with hassle of travel and weather especially for the painting that take few weeks to complete. Sometimes I put the painting halfway aside for few years before finish it :D
