I loved this game, albeit I played it when it was released in 89,which I feel is part of the reason why alot of people dislike the game. Hear me out, rpgs were still new to the console scene. That being said, this game did its job, it was the right introduction to the rpg style. The reason why I feel people hate it because of the date is because alot of people are just now getting to the game. This is the way of the gaming industry, but keep it in mind friends. Great music, great introduction game.
@TheMostBleedingHeart .....that was completely unnecessary to point out given that 1989 is still a year before 1990, and the guy responded to me pointing out his mistake. And I don't think there's anything wrong with assuming that an English speaker would be referring to the American console.
The fact that the game itself kind of sucked makes the 71-0 Like/Dislike ratio really impressive. The music is so awesome it totally makes up for the game.
FFMQ is seriously my favorite Final Fantasy besides Tactics and IX, due in no small part to the SFX and music. I love the sword sound effect in that game. People talk so much shit on it, but it's alot of fun. What's wrong with playing an easy game once in a while?
@NomeoProductions I kinda agree with you. However, FFMQ's not my favorite, but it certainly is one of my favorite FF due the music and it's simplicity.
Playing an easy game like FFMQ boosts up my confidence for some reason...
@NomeoProductions I agree with you, 100%. It's nice to sit back and enjoy a fun game like Mystic Quest once in a while. Especially when it has such damn great music.
I used to actually hum this tune to myself, but not be able to remember where I originally heard it from. Thanks for reminding me where it was from. :)
i liked ffmq cuz it was THE first rpg i played (im 12) and i got to pazu (the giant bird guy and he has the power of the wind crystal) and i lost again and again cuz of petrify (i didnt know you could use a heal potion) and i got soooo mad that i deleted my file! but i beat pazu and the DARK KING!
I still love this game. I'm 27 and have played many many RPG's since then but I still have fond memories with this one. The US market still wasn't into RPG's that much at the time so they made this one for the states. It was much easier mainly for the US to get used to RPG's and is why it's seen as the lone wolf. Still a great game :)
That game wasn't horrible at all, the sound was just amazing for the old days and the gameplay was a bit easy tho, but it's not a bad game. I even play it right now!
30 seconds with Google has revealed to me that the same person infact HAS done both soundtracks. Ryuji Sasai has composed the soundtrack of FF:MQ and Rudra no Hihou. Also HOLY FSCKING SHIT RUDRA NO HIHOU! THAT'S LIKE THE BEST SNES RPG EVER (After Final Fantasy 6)

An amazing soundtrack to what's probably one of the most anticlimactic end bosses to a video game ever... if you know how to do it, at least!
Dark King... vicious attacks even against a max leveled player, what do you do?
Heal him to DEATH! Bwahahaha~!
Course, that takes the fun out of the fight... I always preferred the long way.

@wiiplayin Just get a you tube to mp3 converter and paste the link in the software. It'll poop out an mp3 for you!

@Noahandtheark7 Sword-chucks would have made this game 100x better, amirite?

@Quez256 Wrong. Go the way of McNinja and give Ben a pair of chainsaw-chucks.
