  • I loved this game, albeit I played it when it was released in 89,which I feel is part of the reason why alot of people dislike the game. Hear me out, rpgs were still new to the console scene. That being said, this game did its job, it was the right introduction to the rpg style. The reason why I feel people hate it because of the date is because alot of people are just now getting to the game. This is the way of the gaming industry, but keep it in mind friends. Great music, great introduction game.

  • @08hosavp 89? The Super Nintendo didn't even come out until 1991 dude.

  • @MezaseMaster

Whatever I made a mistake. I played it in 92. Its been along time. My point still stands either way.

  • @MezaseMaster .....it was out in 1990,in Japan.

  • @TheMostBleedingHeart .....that was completely unnecessary to point out given that 1989 is still a year before 1990, and the guy responded to me pointing out his mistake. And I don't think there's anything wrong with assuming that an English speaker would be referring to the American console.

  • @MezaseMaster yeah,true.

  • The fact that the game itself kind of sucked makes the 71-0 Like/Dislike ratio really impressive. The music is so awesome it totally makes up for the game.

  • How come Dark King doesn't dislike this?

  • FFMQ> all games on xbox360 and ps3 combined *-*

  • An amazing soundtrack to what's probably one of the most anticlimactic end bosses to a video game ever... if you know how to do it, at least!

Dark King... vicious attacks even against a max leveled player, what do you do?

    Heal him to DEATH! Bwahahaha~!

Course, that takes the fun out of the fight... I always preferred the long way.

  • @wiiplayin Just get a you tube to mp3 converter and paste the link in the software. It'll poop out an mp3 for you!

  • FFMQ is seriously my favorite Final Fantasy besides Tactics and IX, due in no small part to the SFX and music. I love the sword sound effect in that game. People talk so much shit on it, but it's alot of fun. What's wrong with playing an easy game once in a while?

  • @NomeoProductions I kinda agree with you. However, FFMQ's not my favorite, but it certainly is one of my favorite FF due the music and it's simplicity.

Playing an easy game like FFMQ boosts up my confidence for some reason...

  • @NomeoProductions Schwong!

  • @roflwaffles222 Boom boom boom boom boom!

  • @NomeoProductions I agree with you, 100%. It's nice to sit back and enjoy a fun game like Mystic Quest once in a while. Especially when it has such damn great music.

  • I used to actually hum this tune to myself, but not be able to remember where I originally heard it from. Thanks for reminding me where it was from. :)

  • VUR-CHU-ALL CON-SOLE PUH-LEEZ!!!

  • listen to that double bass at :55

  • This fight was epic.

    Easy, but epic.

  • @Mathenaut this music would make any fight epic

  • Very underrated theme. Glad it made your list.

  • @TSD4027 Very underrated soundtrack.

  • dammit, played this game so much I can actually hear the SFX from white going off during this.

  • @Noahandtheark7 Sword-chucks would have made this game 100x better, amirite?

  • @Quez256 Wrong. Go the way of McNinja and give Ben a pair of chainsaw-chucks.

  • I constantly find myself stopping the playlist to listen to this repeatedly, good stuff

  • Yes! I heard this before :D

  • Lol, I can't help but see Fighter from 8bit comics. XD

  • I totally see him too :D

  • Good game!

  • Agreed.

  • i liked ffmq cuz it was THE first rpg i played (im 12) and i got to pazu (the giant bird guy and he has the power of the wind crystal) and i lost again and again cuz of petrify (i didnt know you could use a heal potion) and i got soooo mad that i deleted my file! but i beat pazu and the DARK KING!

  • I still love this game. I'm 27 and have played many many RPG's since then but I still have fond memories with this one. The US market still wasn't into RPG's that much at the time so they made this one for the states. It was much easier mainly for the US to get used to RPG's and is why it's seen as the lone wolf. Still a great game :)

  • This and pokemon are what made me love RPGs so much

  • dark king can be beaten in a few hits if u use cure on him no joke!!

  • This game has so many great songs, it's crazy!! It was an RPG for the beginners though. I kind of enjoyed it since the soundtrack was awesome!

  • it wasn't that bad...music was really good though.

  • That game wasn't horrible at all, the sound was just amazing for the old days and the gameplay was a bit easy tho, but it's not a bad game. I even play it right now!

  • @gyahahalol The game never was horrible, people hated it only because it doesn't feel like it should be a FF series game.

  • This song sounds a lot like the music in Rudra no Hihou. Does anyone know if the composers are the same?

  • 30 seconds with Google has revealed to me that the same person infact HAS done both soundtracks. Ryuji Sasai has composed the soundtrack of FF:MQ and Rudra no Hihou. Also HOLY FSCKING SHIT RUDRA NO HIHOU! THAT'S LIKE THE BEST SNES RPG EVER (After Final Fantasy 6)

  • It's been playing in my head since I was 5 :D

This was my first real FF, beside that FF Adventure game for the gameboy which was really a Mana game.

  • Using Cure on him is just cheap. I always fought using Excalibur and Flare

  • Mystic Quest was meant for beginner RPG players, and in that sense I guess it works. I never cared for the game itself and probably wouldn't pick it up again unless I was just really curious after all these years, but it does have some good tunes.

  • Ah, finally I hear the original version of this! I've had a MIDI version for ever and loved it, always wanted to hear what it sounded like on the SNES.

  • Could you send me the MIDI version? I'm curious as to how it sounds.

  • If I can find it again, sure.

  • I liked the doom castle music better I think, but the music in this game doesn't get enough credit.

  • Damnit, now I want to play Mystic Quest! And there are several problems with that conjecture....

  • I wasn't even bringing up the quality of the game, even though that is a problem. One of my problems is that I'm playing other games at the moment, and adding this would crowd it.

  • game was cool even tho it was a baby FF

  • k now nintendo final fantasy music is epic this song is cool

  • Ah, i like this song.

  • <3 at the love for FF:MQ
