I actually went to high school & befriended Pavlov's Dog guitarist Steve Scorfina. He was an exceptionally kind and generous person who lent me a helping hand during a couple of rough patches in my life. We stayed pretty close until he left REO Speedwagon in 1970 and I moved to the East Coast and we lost touch. I haven't seen him for a few decades but I noticed he still has a website and is still an active working musician. He's a standup guy & deserves the best.
ah...the loss of Sigfried Carver to the political mAsses. *sigh Always great to hear these guys. David was Geddy Lee (but much, much better!) before Geddy knew what it meant.
I'm like pavlov's dog, really. I was fooled into thinking I would get a reward for clicking this link. However, my expectation was replaced with disappointment.
I was 18.....am 52 now......he (David Surkamp) instilled a passion within me to an extent unbelievable.....he always sends me to a place that I will forever need
@jobear58 I know honey we were so fortunate- ever get to see them live?? They opened for Roxy Music in KC - 35 years ago and I can still remember that!!! Not so much other things - lol
I played guitar with him and about 6 others at a party in st louis. I had no idea who he was or what he did. But, when he stared singing, with him sitting next to me, it scared me. Life is a trip.
@Trutzblatt sounds like basic piano intro to me ... it doesnt sound like any piano piece i can think off not by classical composer unless a variation on something
Anybody know who the piano solo is from at the beginning of this song...??? I know it's not by them, but it was cut in.....it's some classic composer....but who....anyone???
This is one of those songs I heard as a teenager, right time, right circumstances, struck a chord in the midst of so many new things happening to me and even now, 30 or so years later it stills brings a smile to my face
One of the most extraordinary, aching, male-vulnerable vocal performances of the rock era - when David Surkamp sings "oh please see how much, how much you mean to me" you know he's completely, helplessly smitten! Amazing song.

I tend to hate songs about love since they are so generic, but this one is actually quite impressive.
