The camera work is like in battlestar (Very shakey and zooming in/out alot on purpous for effect, expecialy when gunfire starts or theres an explosion) I guess there are other things that do it like that, but thats the one thats always jolted to memory when I see that kind of cam work.

That camera work was pioneered in Firefly. The same crew works on BSG now. In fact, the Firefly class ship actually makes a cameo in the pilot.
