and do you know if it can be played on a D/G?

Yes, it can be played on a D/G but its in Am (ish) so its a bit tricky. Great fun to play tho.

Well... the F is sharp meaning it's really another mode of the G/Em scale. Dorian I believe...

Well, I suppose even if all the notes are there it might be a little awkward, running out of breath and so on.
Nice playing and great to hear this lovely hornpipe. I uploaded a version myself and deleted it as it wasn't very good. You've inspired me now so give me a couple of days and I'll have another go.
