It's all a matter of personal tastes peeps. Rolling Stone Magazine didn't agree either. They list MK as 27th. Where they dug up that number I have no clue but some between 27 and 1 I don't agree with but again, it's personal choice. nothing more, nothing less
@trubowspiritwind I honestly don't think it's a question of who's better, MK or EC. They are both phenominal. I think each one's guitar speaks a different language, that's all. I do think that EC has been through more levels and types of music that MK. He seems to have settled back to where he bagan and where his heart seems to be....Blues. Have you seen MK playing with Chet Atkins?? Check it out.
Are you kidding - you're complaining about a polo shirt and side-pockets pants? The man's a legend - when you play like him - you can wear whatever you want - or not... '-)
too bad Clapton didn't treat his women the way he wrote songs about them. Love the music but the man is a (reformed???) bastard. Read the book and Pattie Boyd's version too if you want to compare notes) Still think Jimmy Page is a better guitarist
It must be hard for a guy like clapton, every girl you come across wants something from him, be it money or fame or music (sheryl crow). Im sure NONE of the women he has fallen for would want anything to do with him had he been a carpenter or a garbage man. He writes love songs about ideals, the way he imagines women should be but never are. You judge him on a patty boyd book? she is just some 2 bit slut that was trying to sell a book, and you fell for it. besides, women want to be treated badly
Not just HER book but HIS as well. You sound like a bitter mysoginist. I hope you HAVE given up women by now and have gone to play for the other team 'cause you sound like a bitchy queen
The real treat is Mark Knopfler on the rythm guitar. Awsome sound.
Erics solo on this is ok but far from his best work. when it comes to blues solos I heard a lot better. Mick Taylor would have a field day with this song. Dont get me wrong, Clapton still rules.
i agree with u 100% there are lots of guitarist who play blues and they all sound somewhat same, in this video clapton is playing blues which many blues guitarist does it same!! mark is the only guitarist whose sounds different from all the guitarist and i don't think anyone can say any different, when mark plays any note it has meaning he doesnt try to play thousand notes with no purpose.
Clapton is one of the two or three greatest guitar players of all time period. If you don't understand that you don't get rock music and you certainly don't get the blues.

this is Eric at his best. he plays the blues so well it can make a person feel the music. Still think Knopfler is the better guitarist though
