ok is it only me or have other people been given no option but to upload the new one? i logged into it today and there was a message from windows telling me i must download the new one! anyhow i did....and it wouldnt work! i have now taken it to my computer shop,still no joy...they said they have had loads of people with this problem! so do i put a claim in against windows for the bill ? bastards

wlm 2009 is the worst version of any messenger that i ever seen. No more windows live messenger. Invasion of privacy, slow motions, delay of voice, errors. If they needed to protect anyone's privacy they shouldn't let people see ''What's new''. They can offer security to cyber sex maniacs not to me. And they push people to upgrade it or no signing in. Crap!!!!!!! I want to use what i want they shouldn't push me to use what they want. Yahoo!

I hate Messenger 2009!! 2008 was the first one i got then i decided to download the updated version of it and i just hated it. i loved it at first but then I got really tired of it. the old one for your status you could say like out to lunch or be right back or away or busy or appear offline or online. i loved that but now i cant do that anymore which sucks. so i hate it

I'm back to MSN messenger 7.0, it is only version of MSN messenger that allows you to sign in without upgrading it. I'm happy because i found it.

I removed the ads by using WireShark to see what ad server the program was accessing and then I changed the Hosts File to suit.

It looks very good. The problem is that the video call system has changed. Now it depends of your connection to get a good video cam quality as well as good audio! If one doesn't have a good connection, the image of the web-cam is very pixelated. Plus I cannot communicate with some of my contacts because they appear offline for me when they tell me they are in online status, and sometimes I cannot deliver any message to them :S

TY that was the olny video that i could under stand:

it was very clear (Voice),

good quality of picture,

well explained,

but some things got annoying like:

the blurry bits, half the time they didnt cover the right bits and got in the way,

and you didnt move ther camera at one point so i missed a bit.

BUT overall that was extremely helpfull and thanks alot

man, on mine, i just click sign in and its all messed up, like it doesnt show my contacts, and the today page, or nothing, u cant acces options or anything except your email, my system is win xp, do i need service pack three or what??

Don't get Messenger Plus. It's a virus!!! When I installed it pop ups from CiD keep coming up. They said its from the sponsor program, but if you DO NOT choose to install it, it installs it anyway. KEEP AWAY!!!

good video. I tried out this version and other than the eye candy changes, it's not much different from the previous two versions. The thing that bugs me the most is that you have to type in your password every time you want to check your mail by clicking on the little envelope icon in the top right corner. Also the avatars of my contacts seem to update only when I open a conversation box.
