so because we logically choose to stay home and watch the game instead of spending the money to go see our team during a bad season makes us fairweather fans? sorry that we're not spending cash every day to go to the game. cleveland has a huge fanbase that has spent every offseason of each sport hoping that next year will be better. we don't shift to a better team just cuz ours is bad.
The Indians have fair weather fans. The attendance at the field was not nearly that big until August when fans realized they were actually going to make the playoffs. Now this year they average 11,000 attendance for home games. But yet the Browns can get the stadium packed.
@Grapes428 most people in Cleveland don't have the means to buy season tickets for the Indians (81 home games), Cavs (41 home games), and Browns (10 home games), so they have to make a choice as to where to spend any recreational money they may have. With that being said there is less of a financial hit buying Browns tickets because of the number of games. If the Indians are bad people would rather spend that money on the Browns or Cavs...
@MrStones64 Jose Mesa, one of the best closers in the game at the time (note: one of the best, not THE best) blew a save in the bottom of the 9th inning in game 7. Game eventually went to extra innings where Edgar Renteria of the Marlins made a series winning base hit in the 11th or 12th inning.
seeing how spring is going...Travis,Grady and westbrook all healthy we could have alot of games like this and we can hear the announcers say "IT'S GONE...HOME RUN" alot more often on the radio like the 90s and in 2007
im a tigers fan so i can say im glad to see this year weve turned it around but last year was supposed to see the indians and tigers be the AL behemoths and battle it out all year..and we both sucked..no idea what happened to either team.
We need this for 2011

So how bout the Indians this season. Ehh?
popthej97 9 months ago
Amazing what can happen in 3 years. The Indians were a playoff team in 07 and now they can barely draw 10,000 fans to the games

@MrStones64 i believe that prior to the fall of 2004, many people said that about the Red Sox. Look what happened to them
