Nothing wrong with freebirthing. But it should be a conscious choice, not something women feel pushed into with no other choice. And women need to feel they can seek help, from the medical establishment without fear of being victimised or "punished".
I hope that fight against these silly policies succeed- women/families/babies deserve to have a comfortable, quiet safe place to birth- hospital is not that- homebirths are not going to stop if there is no midwife- they are just going to become freebirths (unassisted births without a trained midwife to help if something goes wrong)
