I remember reading somewhere Steve would definitely reconnect with this band if the opportunity ever came along-wouldnt that be something? He said he wouldnt rule it out-that would be awesome but doubt it would happen now
There is a live King Biscuit of these guys with some unreleased songs. Don't knock Steve, guys. He is a hell of a performer. Streets is one of the bands I saw in '84 (aka "The Year of Concerts") at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Saw over 40 bands that year Steve invited everyone to his hotel to party. When we got there, only certain people were being let it... none of them had penises.
@thealbumcollector None of them had penises? Ummm don't include walsh in that statement. i know for a fact most guys would love have what he's got......
@FetusWenus Of course. I've been Walsh's 'muse' for 30 years. I'm the one he calls 'the crime' Yes I was at that party in Milwaukee, but Steve wasn't- he thought I had dumped him and went back to his hotel after the concert, I went to the party to tell him I was coming back--- been that way missing each other at every turn for 30 years now. But I don't hand out his address or phone #. if that's what you meant. The next song he wrote for me was "All I wanted".
Masjestic recording. Steve looks like some aerobic celebrity from one of Jane Fonda's 's work out video's, but is singing the roof down. Bloody hell! Their second album is a classic, but didn't know they also rocked the stage. Thanks for bringing back the golden memories!
godz.... no wonder this band is unknown. haah Walsh has a great voice but shorts? And those really tight ones that look well... goofy. Now I gotta go watch wayward son and fire with fire.
They should have been huge. Maybe the shorts and tube socks slowed them down. Just kidding....I love their stuff...what talent. Get their songs if you can.
I was a huge Kansas fan. In 1983 while stationed in Myrtle Beach S.C. I couldn't believe that Streets & Steve Walsh were going to play at a small club I hung out at called Xanadu. I had only seen Kansas at large venues like the Civic Areana and 3 Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh. But there I was, 2 feet from him. Wailing away on his key board and doing the trademark hand stands. Thanks for the video. Brings back some good memories.
I am also from pittsburgh and seen kansas in 77,79 and 81 at the civic arena, also seen streets at entertainment city in moon township october of 83. rock on my friend!!
The 2 albums by Streets are very good! the production on the Crimes in Mind album is even better than the first. Great guitar work by the great Bobby Slammer. Thank God for Arizona Basement. Simply the best go to guy for the best kansas on the tube!!!!!!! This video is so RARE !
I agree, the Streets stuff is excellent. The guitarist's name is Mike Slamer, not Bobby. I ran sound for the opening act at the Palms in Milwaukee in 1983. FYI, Slamer went on to make two albums with Steelhouse Lane, awesome stuff. Check it out!
Yes, thanks to Arizona Basement for this rare video. Funny thing, when this album first came out we thought that Steve was doing all the vocals. When they did their soundcheck, we were all blown away hearing that Billy Greer the bass player sounded just like Steve only Billy was singing the high harmonies!
Yes I did speak to Steve. A friend of mine owned the sound company that was hired to do the gig. I was helping him mix the on stage monitors during the sound check so I did talk to Steve and Mike, Billy and Tim although it was in a working environment only. They all hanled themselves professionally and were nice guys in my experience. Of course I was a bit starstruck meeting Steve.
I was one of the people at the Palms for that show, and I saw Streets at the old"County Stadium" when they played before a Brewwers Game, and one other time down at Summerfest. I agree with you Mike Slamer was an awesome guitarist. Christ 1983, I'm gettin too fricking old LOL.
You have to wonder whether Steve Walsh would have been a major solo act all on his own. He definitely had the voice and the stage presense. I'll bet he really wanted that a lot. So friggin' underrated!!
Great song. Great performance. Besides having one of the premier, signiture voices in rock and roll, Steve Walsh was one hell of a keyboard player. Also, what other keyboard player put on that kind of show? (excepting Elton of course)

Amazing band and performance. All the jealous losers who never could wear shorts need to silence themselves.

If only had a singer that didn't wear shorts and act like a wanna be Freddie Mercury this band would have been huge! Slamer is awesome!

@SuperRaven57
Thealbumcollector was saying that none of the people let into the hotel room had penises...hence they were women.
By the way, you got Walsh's digits?

I'd put this on my favorites if Steve was wearing something half way human.

No, it's called "it looked normal in the 80's" :-) Steve;s hair is a bit of a shocker. But still, the voice! The energy!

Very cool ! I am in the middle of transcribing a piece Steve wrote on his 1st solo album.
It is called "Just How It Feels" It is a song about his Grand parents who he was very close with.
Thanks for all your information and keep in touch my friend.
Dave.
