nice catch there lady!!! obviously some of the (cough cough ) people with stupid moron replies never heard of the likes of joan wulff one of my casting heroes and im a guy who fishes with his wife as often as she lets me!!!
@ButeoLineatus Very observant, it's called a river. In case you are unfamiliar with it, a river is defined as a natural waterway that flows from point A to B. It can be from a lake to a lake, a lake to the ocean or sometimes it flows into the ground. A kitchen on the other hand, is a room where food is prepared in case you're wondering where the stuff that goes into your mouth come from.
hmmm wonder why this is one your most viewed videos ;-) ....... i wish my wife was into fishing .I love your videos so keep them comming . Knæk og bræk to Nina and you from a crazy danish fisherman :-)
@fishingwithrod I remember you asking in one of your Videos ," what would you guys like to see more of". After viewing this video I instantly thought more Nina! I adore her, you guys makes a great team.
@stuttabrutha Fly fishing is just another fishing method, and yes it is a bit harder to learn but not impossible, and it's really fun once you get a hang of it! You should definitely give it a go, possibly take a casting class to avoid the frustration of learning it yourself. Once you start catching fish on the fly, you'd be hook.
@fishingwithrod not a truer word spoken, I did a short course for the basics and have since then taught muselt a variety of other casts including double hauling, the various spey casts and having a look at the snake roll casts, though they look a little trickier!
@stuttabrutha Fly fishing is hard, if you think it's hard, it's actually extreamily simple, only one hurdle, the cast, other than that is like any other kind of lure fishing. A lot of people try to over complicate it and see it as an artform, it's not :P it's no different that sticking a spinner on a spinning rod. just the cast that is all, and that doesn't take long to pick up either!
@stuttabrutha Two videos that helped me was Left Kreh on Fly Casting and Flycasting Faults & Fixes by Mel Kriger. Didn't have any other help and eventually could cast up to 80ft. I had problems with a tailing leader and Mel's tips cured it. Since I live in Texas, I found there is nothing more fun than hooking into a redfish down in Port Aransas, TX. Always take a regular spinning rod down there because the wind can wash out the fly casting.
Is that a parachute adams you are swinging down there? Thats a nice sized cutthroat, well done. I've pulled an 8 pounder out of a lake near the sunshine coast, couldn't believe it, I released it as well.
@UnalphabeticalDuck Most Danes come fishing in BC in September and October when salmon and steelhead are running strong. May and June is an interesting period, most of the fishing is done in interior regions of BC (lake fishing for rainbow trout, brook trout). Small stream fishing for trout might be a bit early during those months, but you never know... Check our website for updates and email me if you have questions when the dates approach.
@fishingwithrod im not sure if your talking about the mainland but theres sockeye right now on the island near ucluelet in Kennedy. its the first of september.
@UnalphabeticalDuck In may/june the springs will be starting to show up, maybe a few spring run steelhead, and the halibut will be in closer to shore, where in b.c. you heading, its a big province!
@TheCaptainQuinn Hey bud! Plans changed, going to Norwegian to catch a dream pollock on my #4 rod at atleast 20 pounds! Going to be a challenge, but whats fishing without a challenge ? :)
But thanks for the info! Deffo going to BC (Don't know exactly where yet), to try out some trout/salmon, etc :)!
Nice video. Pay no mind to the haters. You guys keep having fun and filming it. I may be a little behind but is that your girl? My wife fishes with me.
I moved to the lower mainland and am trying to find some nice little trout streams like that. When I ask the local tackle shop guys they all seem to think the only thing I should be fishing for is salmon or that I only want catch and kill. I just wanna fish. I found the upper narow part of the Alouette last knight so I'm good there. Where else can you recomend.
@LordMikkell Trout fishing in Lower Mainland streams typically picks up after salmon finish spawning. Cutthroat trout and bull trout start pecking off eggs that float down from redds. Any little streams between Coquitlam and Harrison River would produce, but you'd need to move from one spot to another until finding some fish. Stave River, Nicomen Slough, Kanaka Creek are a couple other options.
@LordMikkell Yes, fairly limited in the Lower Mainland compared to Vancouver Island, however for late summer/early spring, cutthroat trout fishing would still be possible but the fishing is just not as fast as late fall/early winter. Some people fish the lower end of the Vedder Canal in August. Harrison Lake can also be good, but a boat is advantageous. I regularly fly fish the Tidal Fraser River for them in September but catch rate is low (1 fish out of every few trips, but no crowd).
but i cant seem to find a 2wt rod even when i go to my local tackle dealer they dont have em is there any good tackle places i can go to im in oregon state but if they have more tackle shops with 2wts in BC,canada i will go all the way there if i have to
@chinglengvang Any reputable fly fishing stores in your local area should have fly rods in all weight sizes. If not, they should be able to order them for you. At least this is how it is all fly stores in BC.
