The TEA party supporters are angry about big FEDERAL government, not state government. if my state does something i whole heartedly disagree with i can move. The federal govt. is something different. @Nick64e It has never been established who killed Robert Krentz. He reported on the radio he was going to investigate what he thought was an illegal, but no suspects have been apprehended. One version suggests that he attempted to intervene when some Minutemen were harassing an illegal, and that one of the Americans shot him. His pistol was still holstered and his wallet was full of cash when his body was found. He was known to sympathize with illegals, and put out food and water for them.

@barbee8876 A state has no legal jurisdiction to pass laws concerning immigration. To get around this, AZ created the legal fiction that illegals are guilty of criminal trespass. This is both unconstitutional and stupid, because anyone asked for papers under this law can halt the process by asking for a lawyer, and the State is then liable for all of the costs, and must prosecute those arrested in State court. If the justification for the law is economic, the law will have the opposite effect.

also the term racial profiling is in fact wrong, we are all one race being human. what this really is is ethnic profiling. and what it really comes down to with this law inAZ is damned if you do and damned if you don't. when you get to the point illegals are in fact criminals. what else do you call someone that broke our laws? many in fact break more laws by stealing identities. so do we reward the law breakers with amnesty or try to deport them?

anyone remember back during ww2 when japanese citizebns were taken and put in internment camps? this was done by order of the president backed by congress and scotus. though the actually law had to do with what the military deemed as sensitive areas only one group was targeted. racial profiling has in fact been legally used by our goverment.

Alfredo Ramos was convicted for three previous alcohol related misdemeanors. Then he killed two teenage girls while drunk driving. Virgina law prohibits police identifying the national immigration status of misdemeanors. You telling me that the government is out of bounds for making sure that all convicts are U.S. Citizens? Had Alfredo been deported at his first conviction, those girls might be alive today. Don't give me this is government "oppression" bullshit.

I expands the state's power, not federal power. Conservatives tend to prefer more state power over federal power, like what the Articles of Confederation did, rather than balancing it out, like what the constitution does.
