What does "ridiculous" mean? In Britain it's when someone does something so pointless and unfruitful that it's often offensive or an embarrassment to society. I think that you (Mr Buzan) are so honest that you appeal to the masses. People find speculations and musing too deep and "ridiculous" and overthought. Maybe they are, but it's still relevant and always has been. All the best writers and thinkers have had the same thoughts as you, as do I and millions worldwide. I tip my hat to you, sir!
you definately come across in a normal, natural way, like your not pretending to be something, or acting up for the camera. that way you will probably come out with stuff that is more true to your original thoughts and not compromised by feeling self conscious, wandering what people will think of what your about to say before saying it...

When I look at my youtube videos I think to myself how stupid some of them sound even though the concept and vision of what I was going to do in them was pretty flawless and spot on. Oh well, I guess it's always admirable to just be yourself right ? haha
I feel exactly the same and I already indeed deleted a lot of my videos and even channels :) But I don't think that "don't care" about things (or what other people think) is a solution, but just accept everything as it is, accept yourself and other people as they are, and instead of any mental judgment (created by the human mind), just feel love and connection with everything... Which is always there and allow... all things to be...

1) I always feel ridiculous too, Micah. And the reason why I always feel ridiculous is that I seriously think I'm ridiculous. And it is very ridiculous. I mean, seriously ridiculous. Cause if I was just ridiculous I would not be ridiculous. There must be seriousness behind or somewhere to make it appear really ridiculous. So... at the end I'm not sure....maybe being serious is ridiculous....
2).... So there's no escape from ridiculousness. But if I say this seriously like I've just done, it sounds ridiculous one more time. There must be a dialectic between opposites to back each other up. It's like knowing that we don't know, I think.
by making videos we share ourselves with each other all over the world, can make others aware of certain things or expose our own fears of being rediculous for example lol :P And it shows how much alike we all are.

Being consistent within voicing yourself, can only develop when you allow yourself to talk and share yourself. In the mind things easily make sense, because it can use picture's and feelings/emotions to fill in the gaps, voicing yourself is very different lol. I had a hard time to communicate about many subjects, When I started writing things came up that werent clear and in voicing other things came up that werent clear. Much self-judgment too, too slow/dumb/fake etc. Let go and share. (y)
thanks for perspective. i understand what you are going through. I sometimes still "feel" ridiculous when i talk to clients at work, but what I realized is that how i "feel" isn't real. Meaning the other person can't see it.
so when i speak to clients, now, i don't focus on my inner experience and feelings, i only listen to what the client says and does and i just participate. I don't allow myself to be "conscious of myself" , i am only aware of the actual physical situation i am in.
after the situation is over, i look back at my behavior and see where i could become more effective. and if i had any feelings during the event, i delete them. if i have any feelings towards my memory of the event, i delete that as well.
Whenever you have topics you would like to discus, do so. And prioritize the ideals into segments or blocks. Bringing the intellectual side out in videos is the best thing you tube needs right now, and so far you have brought it. I enjoy viewing your videos, they are like diaries. Very elegant and thought provoking sometimes. Continue archiving memories and thoughts and sharing them with the world.
