I noticed the contrast between skin and cloths. If you made a suit (tight latex) with cuttings showing your skin, it would look like your burning magma. Just like the movie.

I think all of the AFX samples made by younger people like you look Amateurish due to only 3 reasons.

1) You make it obvious that you're not Actually on fire (bad acting).

2) Bad choice of background for Johnny Storm to be at (If you've seen the movies).

3) The flame isn't very realistic.

You can probably fix these things by

1) Wearing something that makes sense (Hard to think of).

2) use a greenscreen for a rooftop background and

3) Don't TRY to Act ;)

Great otherwise, keep it up.

While I agree with the notion that many of these tests don't look "amazing" compared to hollywood standards, or even against what a college student can create, please keep in mind that:

1. These are people who are just learning how to do the effects. Anyone 12-16 who can get a decent key and do a nice effect that doesn't look like it was made in Movie Maker is doing ok.

2. They tend to be tests of the effect creation itself. Not the practical application. That comes later. :)

You should probably fix up the lighting in your blue/green screen shot so that it matches with the background. That would make it seem a whole lot more realistic.
