@Statalyzer then why was he fired or forced out in 1994 then? hmmmmmm.....and yes, i remember he was hired to clean up the mess..which he did.....but when you only average 68000 fans at games (other than the Nebraska game), AND THIS was the stadium only seated 75,000, Gibbs wasnt going to last.
@Statalyzer and heres another thing...Gerry Faust was told 2 things by his boss at Notre Dame....1) dont cheat and win more than you lose...he did both and was still forced out......College AD's and administration are at times no more honest than judges and politicians....
i met johnny last weekend. he and i went to the RR shootout along with another UT player and my dad. he's a funny mofo. he still looks strong as hell. we had a damn good time. he's a good dude.
Ah yes... one of the classics. What made this game extra special was that we had lost the previous 4 years, and were unranked coming into the game. A lot of pent up emotion was released that day... especially on that play. Thanks for posting.
I should've commented on this a loooong time ago. Thank you for posting it. This was my first RRS. I was 6 and watching that totally takes me back to section 9. Being drenched with flying beverages and not caring one bit. Once again, thank you.
my mom said that when texas scored that touchdown, they couldnt hear the band playing! hell u can barely hear them on this! thats amazing considering we only took up half the stadium!
Gary Gibbs...2-12-1 vs. Texas, Nebraska and Colorado......what a coach!

@TheOusooner56 He did exactly what OU hired him to do - clean up after Switzer and restore the program's image.

Don't you Horns wish Gary Gibbs was still coach?
ThunderSooner2835 3 years ago
If that happened today there would be flags all over the field for the celebration after the touchdown.... sad

the short horns were lucky, Gaddis got hurt and that is how they won.

This is the game where UT and Peter the Great would go on to win 4 times in a row.
