its true that flea did not write in the beginning, he had no theory knowledge no notes no scales no nothing, he said that he didnt know what he was playing just what the next note will sound like and what to play to fit in the music

@mattrex2000 In an interview in the late '90s, Flea says he didn't know how to write music as symbols on a piece of paper. He "wrote" music in that he created it, but he didn't take pen to paper.

Later, he went to school for Music Theory classes.

The place he was talking about, shit that puts my thoughts to words. ive been only playing the bass for about 7 months, i know a few chili-songs and nowadays i can play Soul to squeeze with my eyes closed and sometimes it feels like i've been sleepin for days when i quit playin like you wake up rested like never before really a special feelin, I don't know if thats how he feel but he put my feelings into words.
