I like the fact that they used real wolves. In another episode called 'By the light of moon" there is a female wolf called Jules, and I can't imagine them using wolfman creatures like in van helsing or underworld for a female character. Just my opinion. Love the transformation btw

@lenny004975 Well, the wolfman isn't actually a part of the "traditional" werewolf and the form only came up, I think not before the 18th century, except for the strength, painful transformation and moon stuff, the werewolves in TVD are much closer to the ones from legend than many I have seen in years. And I think using wolfman costumes/CGI would be to expensive

Sorry, I gotta call bullshit on this. Here is an example of a SFX supervisor thinking that the American Audience is too stupid to realize what is going on. Here you have a guy acting the hell out of a scene and we have to see the stupid arm break backwards...what physiological sense does that make? So the design team says "oh, people in the USA are too dumb to realize that this is painful, so lets have his arm bend backwards and break." Sorry, just too dumb for words.

I was actually going to rip this and put it up, but someone did it better than I did. XD I loved this scene. I'm just pissed the end result is just a normal wolf, I really wished it could have been something more 'werewolfy' like Van Helsing or Underworld. Oh well, still a great tf!
