  • you r a very brave girl

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! After watching your video I ve decided to start doing gymnastic. Im 15

  • This made me cry so much -- I am a gymnastics coach, and I did gymnastics and you truly are an inspiration. I will share this video with all of my girls who become discouraged... Your dance has become beautiful and you have more passion than so many other people which is so admirable. I hope you keep in the sport - coaching is a great way to stay in when you can't physically do the sport anymore... Where are you from?! We could use your enthusiasm at my gym ;)

  • you help me so much i starte at 3 (at home) then at 7 i went to a gym righ now im `3 and on level 5 i tell my parents i wanna go to the olympics well they start young im like i did idc how old i was or am i am a gymnast to the sole this is really great ppl who dislike the are jelous 4 what reaso idk great vid

  • It reminds me of me!!!! I was three when I started. I did gymnastics till I was twelve and I got up to level ten. Then I quit because I was in pain for a while. I was a coach potato, and gained so much weight. Then three years later I lost the weight I gained and I started gymnastics again with my sister. I started at square one again when I came back. Now I am level 8 and it's the best feeling ever. I love your vid!!!

  • my mom wanted me to play softball, not do gymnastics, although she hardly ever went to my games/practices. But I stuck with gymnastics and tried even harder, and now i am amazing. stick with your dreams.

  • Man, that's so freaking inspiring!!

What would you say is good conditioning for at home for a 'beginner'? I'm not a gymnastics beginner but in terms of stomach muscle I'm a beginner. And how many reps and such. I can do about 15 v-ups before i have to take a break if that gives you any clue.

Like what did you start out to do to get that strong?

    Any advice?

  • D- 8 6:40 to 6:56 was freeking painful !

    I like the girl though , she's amazing !

  • was it hard starting at 16yrs old i wanna take it up but i'm worried that no where will take me coz im 16 :(

  • its like that, and only like that, a real gymnast is!

  • Im starting gymnastics to help my figure skating. I can do a front walkover, back wlk over, almost the splits, the bridge from standing up, double stag, stag jump, cartweel, roundoff, split jump, and thats bout it...heh :P

  • Wow and I Thot i started late... what kind of gymnastics did u compete?

  • Wow i just cried. im 14 and i wanan be a gymnast, and now i know i can do it. thankyou.

  • I'm sure the people who laughed at you regret it now

  • Girl ! Just remember, that most of the battle is actually attempting the moves. If you don't try,you can't succeed ! Totally inspiring, thanks so much for uploading this !

    Peace,L<3ve & Gymnastics

  • I had to quit, also because of an injury. My growth plates in my wrist were not growing due to my ever so struggling attempts at back handsprings. I wish you the very best, and I too will continue to go for my dream.

  • that was beautiful i have a similar story except i was 12 when i started its a struggle but its worth is :)

  • WOW!! You are an inspiration! You have improved so so so much!! That is such an amazing journey! My story is, maybe around grade 7, I found that gymnastics was that the vault for me was quite hard so I got really frustrated and I quit . I got back into gymnastics one year ago, beginning of grade ten, and I have seen a huge improvement. In 13 days I am starting advanced rec for a year then next year I am starting competitive gymnastics, which is what I have always wanted to do.

  • this goes to show no matter how old or young you are when you start if you really have a dream and try you can get farr now i started gymnastics at 6 -7 years older 4 years later im on level 5 and i want to go to the olympics and my parents said i dident start young enough and people in the olympics start at like 2 or 3 but i dont care im going to the olypics cuz i want people you dont need to be born doing somthin if you really try u can do it :) check out my channel :)

    I glad to know you!!

    very inspirational!

  • wow this is an incredible video!!! Even though you started at a really late age, you still got a lot of skills. You have really good form! I am so sorry about your back! I bet that if you started gymnastics when you were younger, then you would have gone so far in gymnastics because of your determination. You are really graceful and your dance is amazing. You never gave up and thats what I really like! Good job!

  • When I first began gymnastics I could hardly cartwheel(NOT KIDDING). I went back after the first week for my coach to tell me there was a mini gym meet, I competed and came third ! I moved up after that and my moves just keep on coming...day by day :)

  • ok now watched this one after your home work out vid. Now I double express my point of other post. Acro Gym IMHO is where you belong now. Better for your body, and the sport is as prestigious and wonderfull as Artistic Gymnastics. And..... as said before.... your personality will be an insperation to those you partner with.

    Best of luck

  • Your sooooo amazing!! i have probbly commented more then once on this vid!! very inspiring and passionate about this sport!!! : D!!! You should make another progress video to show how much more you progressed since its been 2 years!!

  • @SUMMERxISxMYxTHANG1

    Briii :(

  • So many people look at gymnastics videos and say "oh I want to do gymnastics but I'm to old" that's not true as this video shows. I'm a level 7 and I did start when I was little but I know a number of gymnasts who started later! Do what you love!!!

  • be sure to post a video when your back training. belive in yourself and with a little bit of luck you will compete again!!!

  • Back pain has taken me away from, wrestling, which is my passion. But I found a good trainer, Steve Maxwell, who has experienced his fair share of back pain and over come it and he is helping me to do the same maybe he can help you. Check out his mobility stuff on youtube: Steve Maxwell - Encyclopedia Of Joint Mobility DVD Series

The mobility stuff along with his training tips have really helped me a lot.

  • you are a true idol 2 me. you never gave up and you got better n better n now i will keep tryin n tryin unti i get better. thank you x

  • for the seven that dislike this video you dont understand how this video shows that whatever age you are your never too late to follow your dream :)

  • aww thats so sd , so did you ever get back into gymnastics?? what level were you on when you stoped??

  • That's awesome! I'm 14 and I really want to take gymnastics. This is making believe that I can. :)

  • Thanks so much:)

  • I'm working on my backhandspring and I can do it with a spotter. But I get mental block when I try it by myself. Any tips on how to get over fear?

  • @merock12341 Every time you wanna do it, have your coach spot you first. Just like he or she would normally. Then tell he or she to spot a little less, on and on. If you get scared of them spoting less at one point, tell he of she to spot a little more untill you reach a point were she or he is barely spotting you. Then have he or she just stand there, think to yourself "If something goes wrong my coach is right here! Im ok" When you get comfortable with that move a little bit away.

  • I want to start gymnastics so bad! I'm 14. Is it too late?

  • @merock12341 absoultly not! go for it!

  • I want to start gymnastics so bad. I'm 14. Is it too late?

  • What an inspiration....best of luck with your back injury.

  • this means so much when i was on like level 4 or 5. i had to choice between competive soccer and competive gymnastics ( because they are both very exspensive and time consuming) and people told me i was better at soccer so i choose soccer. i kinda want to start gymnastics again but i really have no time with soccer almost everyday. so its hard. but my goal in life is to have no regrets so i guess i got to be a better soccer player out of it.

  • Respect!

But you have talent . its really awesome , how much you learn ..

and you had began with 16 years .. thats for some gymnasts the end ..

    respect ; D ♥♥♥

  • nice nice ; )

  • .my love for gymnastics never changed. i love it! i don't know if i will ever go back because of finacial reasons (i hope i get the opportonitte though). this video gave me a litttle more hope that i can accoplish my dreams in life and one day (mybe even at the age of 16 become a GYMNAST. gymnastics is my life and always will be.

  • you don't know how much this hased help me to keep on going. i admirer u so much. at the age of 4 i stared gymnastics and by the age of 8 i begen competing . i was 9 when i had to quit because of my familys financial problems. now i'm 11 and .

  • Simply amazing!

  • I was in gymnastics from age 6 til 11 .. my doctor told me to quit cause my back is terible and also my knees and ankles

  • your suck a great instration! i started gymnastics when i was 4. the years later i was at level 6. Then my mom and my dad got divorced. we had no money so i hat to quit. now i an 11 and i justarted again but i had to restart on level 1. All my work for nothing..... i will nver give up

  • you are very good just remember everyone makes mistakes

  • you are amazing...great job

  • That was super inspiring and u encouraged me 2 keep practicing gymnastics and 2 not quit just cuz it gets harder and harder. U r doing a great job with gymnastics!

  • You truly are an inspiration to anybody at any level doing any sport. It just goes to show where passion, desire, drive and hard work can get you. You should be incredibly proud of yourself.

  • aw this was really inspring to me.

i believe for as hard as you work, you will one day be able to do gymnastics again.

and i love how at the end, you said,

i WILL get to do gymnastics again.

    not if, or maybe.

i agree with the person below, i hope your back gets better and you do write this in a book form.

  • As everyone else has said you really are an inspiration, I will hopefully be starting gymnastics next year at the age of 19 and though that might sound laughable to many people. I've been wanting to do gymnastics my whole life I believe that it is a completely amazing and beautiful sport.

  • Wow great video! I think your more of a natural than you think! You improved so much! Hope you get back to the gym soon!

  • wow! sorry about your back though

  • You are an inspiration, thank you for sharing your journey in your videos. Stay focused and you will get back to where you want to be. I suffered a similar back injury from 2003 - 2005 and had to spend a lot of time in bed, but with perseverence I have slowly worked my way back to working out and training, as a dancer, and am happy to say I'm scheduled to be back in a studio for my first class next Wednesday. It's been a rough journey, but I am stronger for it, and you will be too! Stay strong!

  • You're such an inspiration! I started gymnastics a little less than a year ago and I'm 13. I thought I was too old to start, but you have given me hope and thank you. I really want to compete, but I'm not sure how to get started and we don't have that much money, so I probably won't be able to. I don't even have my back handspring yet, but you really, really give me hope! Thanks again for this video, it's one of the best videos I've seen, I hope it's true thought!

    -1ShawnJohnson1

  • I've wanted to be a gymnast all my life too and I hope to be able to start next year as a freshman in college. Your journey is truly inspirational and I can't wait to carve my own path.

  • Amazing! A true inspiration! Loved it.

  • You are my inspiration.

    You are amazing.

    I can't believe I found this video.

I'm sure it will change my life.

Aka, gymnastics. I'm sure to improve now.

    Thank you!

  • I would really go with your doctor on this... this sport can paralyze you if you're not careful. But it's nice to see someone so in love with the sport. I'm 16 right now, I did gymnastics when I was younger. I'm thinking about going back and taking tumbling :)

    Good luck with training :)

  • Fiquei fã!

  • wow this is so inspiring :)

  • Good Job,, i started very young i had the same problem i was definitly not a natural but i never gave up (: your doing really good good for not giving up

  • She most likely started much later you did.

  • To the comment by Lucy50773, you're missing the entire point of this video. If you're going to be negative, then why even bother responding? That's immature.

  • @lucy50773

    Wow

What a negative Nelly you are.

That means your very negative btw...

  • Can I tell you that this is one of the best videos that I've seen about the life of a gymnast? I'm serious. This video is about someone who gave it everything. You have given it your ALL, and I think that's a beautiful thing. Age doesn't matter. Natural ability only goes so far. Hard work makes it ALL possible. French gymnast Benoit Caranobe said it best: "You are a gymnast ALL your life!"

Never give up. You're inspiring, and I hope you keep going. :)

  • ur so inspiring

  • You're awesome! Keep doing what you want no matter what! :)

  • thats so sad i thank u r inspring

  • omg.. wow u r realy inspring and i know can beiliev more bc of u! ur awsome! and sooo INSPRING! u r such a fast learner!

  • respect to you!

  • very inspiring

  • i sarted gymnastics when i was 7 but due to rubbbish equitment ; im at no were but the past 3 years im getting better :D but i alike have devolped back and knee problems but this is the path ive chose to follow

  • me too, i started at 7 and didn't REALLY get anywhere until 9 or 10, but i am injury free other than shin splints, hyperextension, and normal gymnastics stuff. cool video

  • I just started gymnastics and i'm 14. sometimes its really frustrating, you know? how you wish you could impove right away, but you keep trying and trying and eventually you get better. you inspired me to keep trying, so thanks :)

  • nice

  • i am ten and i love gymnastics, so you were a insparation to me.

ps i hope your back wasnt too serious

    i liked the songs too!

  • Wow, I'm floored. You are an inspiration! The transformation was amazing. I hope your back is OK

  • your incredible! 5 stars and favorited.

  • This a really great video.... I see in our program how many people are discouraged even at the age of 11 or 12 from starting out because most of the kids started when they were younger.... it really is something that people don't think about that you can do it even if you started at an older age...

  • So have u over come ur back problem??

  • It just shows how much you love it. When you may have been laughed at, you didn't care, Gymnastics was what you wanted to do, you loved it, and no one stood in your way! You are like my idol seriously!! I love your dedication towards gymnastics.

  • if you showed you loved gymnastics when you were little why didn't your parents sign you up ?

  • Your video was so powerful and beautiful that filled my eyes with tears. I really hope your back would get better soon.
