I take that back, After checking the EX1, there is a problem. The EX1 does not focus close enough even with the diopter lens supplied with the Prodofa adapter. So far that's the only camera that has a problem.
Sorry, you're wrong medium format does not give less depth of field. That means that if I am shooting 8x10 film then I would have no depth of field.. Nonsense.. DOF is based on the size of the film in relation to the focal length of the lens. Logic would say that I have less grain possiblity in the larger groundglass because I have less magnification, since I am filming a larger area. The adapter has 2 vibrators.
It is true that a 45mm lens which have the same depth of field whether used on a 6x7 camera or a 35mm, but that is an irrelevant comparison since, on a 35mm it is a nearly "normal" lens while on 6x7 it is a wide angle. The 45mm wide angle (on 6x7) has substantially less DOF than a 24mm on 35mm, which has a similar angle of view. When you move from 35mm to medium format, as a practical matter, you do, indeed, "lose" substantial depth of field at comparable fields of view.

If you take the medium format image and blow up the equivalent area of a 35mm you'll see that the depth of field in the covered area is the same as 35mm with the same focal length lens. DOF is a perception, so a given focal length will have the same DOF in both formats. Confusing isn't it?
At 00:19 there is a dust spot which only appears and then disappears in the rest of the video, I guess the vibrators worked. I will be posting some High def video in another site, just haven't had time to shoot it.
I made my Pepsi35 adapter back in 2006, Im glad to see things have progressed into the retail market

Would this DOF adapter work with/fit on my Sony
HDV 1080i Mini DV / HVR-A1U?
ELASTICBRAND 2 years ago
I take it it flips the image. How do you find filming upside down, is it really hard?
Slayer100 3 years ago
It's pretty hard, so I have flipped the screen with a modified viewfinder, and also use a monitor when I can.

if there were a hv30 behind that adapter what would be the main difference in picture?
MasterTxJ 3 years ago
Believe it or not the HV30 .. It's high definition and the video is great quality. This footage was shot with the dvx100 (DV).

Does this adapter work with the Sony PMWEX1?

Yes the adapter will work on the Sony EX1

He could always buy a Macro Lens.

Awesome I'm going to buy one of your adaptors, you the man.

The adapter works real nice on the XHA1. I wish it could be cheaper but it's expensive to produce. Thanks..

The Medium Format Advantage - Google Books Result:
If you switch from 35 mm to medium format you must be prepared for the fact that the medium format provides less depth of field .

At 00:19 shows darker spots on intermediate part to the right. My question is: the adaptor has an vibrator? and if so, why the darker spots?

Looks good. I have an XH A1, but I can't afford $745 for the adapter. But, I am looking to buy one.
