I doubt a guy from Brooklyn by way of Long Island (Biz Markie) was down like that with a guy from Harlem (Rich Porter)...but it could be...never got the impression from Paid in Full that Rich or Mitchell was tryna to be a boxer - he was a pretty boy - like 99.99 percent of Harlem cats.
Nonetheless whomever the Rich is, this is one hell of a song.
Its for rich porter he help getting them own in the rap game they where close friend actually he helped the whole juice crew and some other rappers from New York really good song
The sample comes from Jr. Walker and the Allstars - Way Back Home. The instrumental version of the Walker song (available only on the Rainbow Funk album) is very good..
Biz is not talking about rich porter, this album was released in October 10, 1989, Richie porter was murdered in Jan 1990...........

He wasn't talking about Rich Porter. Porter died in 1990 and was buried in 91 -a lil' after new years day. This album came out in 1989-90.

Walker & the Allstars may have done a version but this sounds like The Jazz Crusaders to me. Way Back Home is certainly the track though.
