omg I loved this song! I don't know why she doesn't do it more often... I guess she has so many this one's forgotten. Same with Gambler, that was the best song!
Oh my God, I love this song. Yep, I have tons of respect for Madonna. No, I see no similarities to Marilyn Monroe. Madonna changes the entire playing field for how people think about sex. Madonna, you go girl!
If anyone can tell what brand of instruments were used for this song, I would appreciate it because I want my productions to have this nostalgic feel to them.
@jillcom This is not from any film as i am aware of, but it should be! Maybe it was supposed to be, but never made it. But i definatly know it isnt from Dick Tracy. Hope this helps take care, fellow Madonna fan x
I Love Madonna... why?! True Blue is the reason... the very first of, but the very best reason of them... (& the very first LP I listened to, too! again & again)
25+ years almost later... she, 50, me, 30 but... she's still the Best... been listening to this since the 1st time back when 9 yrs old... sincere, genuine, cool, stylish, feminine, courageous, strengthful, and very, very womanistic, attractive, sexy, and, respectfull...
Like A Prayer, the co-best album to this... (for me)
@nnkyt im lovin you. the woman is beyond the reach of the gaga and other wannabes of today. they will never be a patch on her. a fan since 84 the beginning
Though my music is rockn'roll and good 80's songs (not GAYties) Madonna deffinitely represets the good side of this decade and in my opinon, TRUE BLUE is one of her best shots
One of Madonna's First "Gangsta Songs"......The footage for the Promo video is cool too. From the Ciao Italia-Live From Italy Tour.AKA The Who's That Girl? World Tour 1987.Madonna still ROCKS to this DAY!!!!
No youre cheeeeezzzzzyyyyy!!!! and sleeeaaaazzzyyyy!!!! Hey go find that heebie jeebie one from ghetto hell- you know that Sorry miss jacksn song group!!!1
Agreed, it is a very under-rated song. It is one of my favorites on the album. Other really good Madonna songs that were released but didn't make it big are:
Spotlight
Gambler (on the Vision Quest Sdtrk)
Physical Attraction (Madonna's break out nightclub hit that is almost nearly forgotten about today).
It is also on the You Can Dance album of remixed 12" singles. So I would count it, but it wasn't popular--sadly.
Physical Attraction WAS released as a single...it was the flip side of Burning Up (if you go back to days of vinyl).
Don't always rely on the wiki's...they are not always correct.
Gambler IS a great tune...one of my favorites, but again sadly, it wasn't a big hit. Pretender SHOULD have been a hit along with White Heat. I have played both of these and got a good response.
I know Physical Attraction was released with Burning Up but just as the flip side of it...for example Bordeline was released as a single ok,but its b-side "Think Of Me" was not a single with promotion or a video...so to me "P.A."isnt a single.
Yes,as a single it woud rock at all! True Blue had the perfect mixture of catchness, energy, sound, so every track could be released!! So why didnt' she do that, after the mass success of la Isla Bonita,as a sixth single, for example? Six are too much? I dont think so,'cause she did it for Like A Prayer and Erotica!
@Charliebangel I'm a 21 year old black guy and I find this music (1980s) very refreshing every time I listen to it because a lot of today's music just doesn't have that timeless hold where as 10 years from now, you would still be listening to the same artist.
You're right, pal! 80's rocks! In those times artists were doing true Pop,not like today, there's nothing new, always the same things and that's boring! All is empty and superficial and voulgar!! It sucks!
I dance so hard to this lol
