  • i picture her holding a gun like on who's that girl when ever i hear this song :D

  • wow I love this song :D

  • THIS SHOULD'VE BEEN A SINGLE IN 1996

  • omg I loved this song! I don't know why she doesn't do it more often... I guess she has so many this one's forgotten. Same with Gambler, that was the best song!

  • This song is amazing! It should've been a single!

  • Can anyone tell me what instruments were used for this song???????

  • @audioproducer88 you mean the bongos or congas? Sounds like a base guitar too and of course regular drums and guitar.

  • @cnith2 thanks!!

  • @cnith2 this should've been a single from the album because it stands out from the others to be honest.

  • @PopCulture20 Stands out more than Open Your Heart? More than True Blue? More than Papa Don't Preach???

  • anyone know who the mans voice is on here? i recognise it but cant think

  • @jetz10001 it's James Cagney, from the 1949 film noir of the same name.

  • OMG...I'm feelin' the white heat...from Madonnaaaaa!!!!!

  • Greatest part

    0:00 - 4:43

  • Madonna ROCKS!

  • Love This Song

  • Oh my God, I love this song. Yep, I have tons of respect for Madonna. No, I see no similarities to Marilyn Monroe. Madonna changes the entire playing field for how people think about sex. Madonna, you go girl!

  • If anyone can tell what brand of instruments were used for this song, I would appreciate it because I want my productions to have this nostalgic feel to them.

  • Happy birthday Madonna! :)

  • 24 Million sold Copys of the Album says it all. Masterpiece from the 80ties

  • This song brings back memories of a house I grew up in that has long since been demolished.

  • i got all of madonnas 80s albums on random lately- heard this song and dear jessie for the first time this week. Love the hell out of both of them

  • Wow--what a blast from the past... Thanks!

  • sin el sample de white heat sonaria mejor :S

  • ALL OF MADONNA SONGS ARE GOOD YES IT WOULD BE GREAT IF ALL THEM COULD BE SINGLES BUT THATS NOT GONNA HAPPEN

  • Jimmy Cagney rocks!!!! Good song!!!

  • Awsome trak True Blue Album kicks ass

  • oh wow it's been a long time since i heard this. It's great! I had this album on LP.

  • Nice song,.....

  • this song is too underated!

  • I like every song in True Blue...

  • @champster6288 Me too, in my opinion Her best album

  • @009firefox True Blue is best album :-)

  • "White Heat" should be the 6th single off "True Blue"

  • One of my favourite songs from this album

  • 2 people couldn't stand the heat....

  • Oh good lord, i do love Madonna.

  • In my opinion, one of the best songs she has ever written.

  • is this song from a movie sound track? dick tracy? can anyone tell me.

  • @jillcom No, it's included in her 1986 True Blue LP. I'm Breathless (Dick Tracy soundtrack) is from 1990 ;)

  • @jillcom This is not from any film as i am aware of, but it should be! Maybe it was supposed to be, but never made it. But i definatly know it isnt from Dick Tracy. Hope this helps take care, fellow Madonna fan x

  • @GLITTERPINKBUTTONS The opening is from the 1949 movie "White Heat" starring Jimmy Cagney, who you hear speaking.

  • i love the song but where is the song does she actually say white heat lol

  • @matthewm well said : )

  • The entire True Blue album-Pure Pop Perfection!

  • Like+100

  • i love this song i remember when i was in high school i performed with this song

  • This is my favorite song of hers and White Heat is one of my favorite movies.

  • I Love Madonna... why?! True Blue is the reason... the very first of, but the very best reason of them... (& the very first LP I listened to, too! again & again)

25+ years almost later... she, 50, me, 30 but... she's still the Best... been listening to this since the 1st time back when 9 yrs old... sincere, genuine, cool, stylish, feminine, courageous, strengthful, and very, very womanistic, attractive, sexy, and, respectfull...

Like A Prayer, the co-best album to this... (for me)

  • @nnkyt im lovin you. the woman is beyond the reach of the gaga and other wannabes of today. they will never be a patch on her. a fan since 84 the beginning

  • @nnkyt I love you...you said it all!!! but I LOVE ALL MLVC.

  • jackie jackson sings the background vocals on this song

  • havent heard dis in years luv it !!

  • TOTALLY should have been a single!!

    san jose,ca

  • I really think her music is timeless..she is a living legend!!

  • the music from 0:15 - 0:32 is so nostalgic that it makes me wanna cry.....and i'm only 16

  • @kyanes0219 Your'e not the only one my friend.

  • What a surprise when I saw the movie. I didn't know.

  • Though my music is rockn'roll and good 80's songs (not GAYties) Madonna deffinitely represets the good side of this decade and in my opinon, TRUE BLUE is one of her best shots

  • i love her music she as the right idea lol

  • i love her :))))))

  • One of my favorite songs from Madonna.

  • love this song - jimmy cagney and madonna - wow!

  • thank u so much!! for putting this up! i really miss the 80' n 90'...

  • Creo que es la mejor portada de disco que ha tenído Madonna. A mi de este disco, también me gusta, Where´s the party, y la más Open your heart..!!!.

  • I think it is a pity that this track did not get as much attention as the rest of the songs on the "True Blue" album. Should be played more often.

  • Yeah...!!! I WAS Jimmy Cagney......!!!!!

  • Nice song

  • I had a dance my two friends and I made to this and performed it for people lol when I was like 11 (1988) so funny :) still love this song even now

  • oH sTF UP.... gO GET SOME REALNESS

  • i loved this song when i didnt even quit know what the words meant lol!

  • No idea. Listened to this song on vinyl in 1988 over and over, when I was fourteen. Incredible. Sexy as shit.

  • I was talking about the song, not the album idiottt!

  • is d+

  • Oh really? I hate cops! COPS BLOW big gold brownie badges for S&G's! LOL!

  • No youre cheeeeezzzzzyyyyy!!!! and sleeeaaaazzzyyyy!!!! Hey go find that heebie jeebie one from ghetto hell- you know that Sorry miss jacksn song group!!!1

  • i didn't know this song

  • I love this song! It's so underrated. Should have been released as a single. Very happy that you posted it.

  • Agreed, it is a very under-rated song. It is one of my favorites on the album. Other really good Madonna songs that were released but didn't make it big are:

    Spotlight

Gambler (on the Vision Quest Sdtrk)

Physical Attraction (Madonna's break out nightclub hit that is almost nearly forgotten about today).

    Pretender (not released as single).

  • Well..Spotlight was released as single only in Japan so I dont considered it as a "official" single and it hasnt a video too..

Gambler rocks a lot! But wasnt such a big hit...

Physical Attraction was not released as a single but yeah it's nice.

    Pretender just great!

White heat could be a good smashing hit ! Maybe as a 6th single!

  • It is also on the You Can Dance album of remixed 12" singles. So I would count it, but it wasn't popular--sadly.

Physical Attraction WAS released as a single...it was the flip side of Burning Up (if you go back to days of vinyl).

Don't always rely on the wiki's...they are not always correct.

Gambler IS a great tune...one of my favorites, but again sadly, it wasn't a big hit. Pretender SHOULD have been a hit along with White Heat. I have played both of these and got a good response.

  • I know Physical Attraction was released with Burning Up but just as the flip side of it...for example Bordeline was released as a single ok,but its b-side "Think Of Me" was not a single with promotion or a video...so to me "P.A."isnt a single.

  • @PoxyBear

Yes,as a single it woud rock at all! True Blue had the perfect mixture of catchness, energy, sound, so every track could be released!! So why didnt' she do that, after the mass success of la Isla Bonita,as a sixth single, for example? Six are too much? I dont think so,'cause she did it for Like A Prayer and Erotica!

To me,this song is one of the best Pop songs.

  • @Charliebangel I'm a 21 year old black guy and I find this music (1980s) very refreshing every time I listen to it because a lot of today's music just doesn't have that timeless hold where as 10 years from now, you would still be listening to the same artist.

  • @PopCulture20

You're right, pal! 80's rocks! In those times artists were doing true Pop,not like today, there's nothing new, always the same things and that's boring! All is empty and superficial and voulgar!! It sucks!

    Where are the old times?

  • @PoxyBear Actually it has been released on 45, I found it today in my basement.

  • awesome! it sounds like a soundtrack

  • great

  • vivid energy!
