Ok, Uli and Malmsteen cant be compared. You have the master(uli) and the apprentice(malmsteen) i mean come on! I like malmsteen's shredding but if u take the shredding from malmsteen he is no one!! Uli is not a player that tries to make his playing outshine from the rest, he is a player that makes the whole piece sound badass and that is what really matters. In my opinion Uli is the best along with Michael Schenker.
I feel sorry for anyone who cannot recieve an uplifting in spirit, soul & body, from the music of this wonderful man. Uli, you are an inspiration, to mankind, let alone as a guitarist and composer. God's richest blessings to you, my brother.

@doghousepiiman ..I am a Huge fan of yngwie and I think he is a Bit over the top sometimes.. Uli is very reserved which is nice for a shred king. I think they are all Great and I'm glad they all exist due to my Multiple moods that they all satisfy.

brood666 Uli Jon Roth is a musician, Yngwie & Vinnie are stunt guitarists you can hardly compare them. Go play Yngwie to serious classical musicians or professors in music they'll tell you nice technique, terrible music & compositional skill & unmelodic note heavy. Yngwie is a Stunt guitar player his main stunt being playing fast he has technical skill of course but is NOT nor ever will be a serious musician or composer.
I use to say the same. I like some of Malmsteen's stuff, but he definetly hasn't got a good musical taste. He just shred and shreds all the time, it sounds like everything else but not music, good music.
@CloudsBeyond I agree with most of your points about Yngwie but I believe he deserves more credit than just being a shredder. Sure, most of his songs are pure shred, no one can deny. But Yngwie has some songs that do show some emotion such as Blue, Blackstar, Evil Eye, and some others. I think Yngwie has some good compositional skills, it's just that he doesn't implement them in the best ways possible.
how come he is not more known, he deserves so much! i wouldn't like him to be known after his death like rembrant, and lot of classic legends, when we could all enjoy this glorius work with him alive.
