There are example of black boxes being totally destroyed. In 1992, El Al Flight 1862, a Boeing 747 with mechanical failure, crashed into a resident apartment block in Amsterdam. The flight data recorder was partially recoverable, the cockpit voice recorder was never found.

I was sitting there, watching it on TV in class as it was happening and about 5 minutes before, I was like "I think at least one of these is gonna fall" and it did, to which I was like "...well?" a minute or so after the first fell and then the second fell. okay. im not gonna lie, i think the govt handling of 9/11 was shady. but the prof. was not a chemistry major. the steel beam they tested on was nowhere near the size of the ones in the WTC buildings. Did you see the amount of super thermite was on that bar? there is no way a layer of paint was that thick at any one point. im not saying it wasnt a conspiracy. but that was a poor demonstration.

As long as you know that the super thermite is capable of cutting through steal beam like knife through butter, that's enough to know, at least for an engineer.

Months later, families of the 9/11 victims (but not the general public) were allowed to hear the cockpit voice recorders. So, what was the deal?

THe reason why they didn't show the black boxes is obvious. It DOESN'T show that Hijackers took over the cockpits, it doesn't show any of that. They would GLADLY show them off if they proved their position exactly. They don't, so that's why they were never "found". Its the same at the Pentagon. 86 video tapes all would show the plane impacting the Pentagon, all taken away by the FBI. They want you to think the plane hit, but take away the tapes that would prove it? Yeah right.
