  • Well done, fellas!

  • Dimeola? Wrong.

  • so elegant and soothing, great sound

  • Luckyspyguy - correction: Manha de carnaval, which forms the basis of this tune, was written by Luiz Bonfa.

  • Love DiMeola's version of this piece!

You guys did an exeptional job!

  • love the tune, one of my favorites... u guys did well, considering Di meola and Mclaughin are machines... well done!

  • DiMeola would have still been in diapers when this tune was first recorded. This tune was a part of the score written by Antonio Carlos Jobim for the 1956 Brazilian play "Orfeu da Conceição", recorded by Jobim in 1957, and included in the score of the 1958 film "Black Orpheus." The first recording of it for the American audience was the Stan Getz/Charlie Byrd "Jazz Samba" album, the introduction of Bossa Nova to the U.S., about the time young DiMeola would have been in kindergarten.

  • wow that is really informative. i will look into that. history about music is always interesting

  • yeah but the tune from the movie black orpheus was no where as complex as the dimeola version, still though the movie and the song are both classics :-)

  • Ok I was exaggerating. The idea started a year ago. We broke off in between. So technically we practiced a good month for it.

  • A year??? Geezz....
