  • If you have ever met, seen, or sang with Ricky Dillard then you know he is awesome!! He brings it out in you no doubt about that.

  • and thats when i fell in love with them!!!!

  • Beautiful and Amazing. I added this video to my faves list so I can watch it over and over again.

  • I love chicago gosple misic

  • You don't need to go to any other site. You can download any thing on YouTube if you have an updated Real Player. Its Free.

  • LMAO...one of my friends watching this said it was Barack Obama from :54 to :57, and again at 1:25 - 1:27, and 2:51 - 2:54. Dat ain't right, Cletus...LOL

  • I remember this!!!! I was 6 yrs old!!! I remeber Patti LaBell showin out that night! Ricky has always been an inspiration to me, Just amazing!!!!!

  • yo i was in the 5th grade when this came out....they are killin it!!!

  • Amazing! I think Patti LaBelle's choir used a similar ending in one of their songs on clash of the choirs in December 2007. If anything like this had ever been done in the church I grew up in, they would have had to call 911 cuz all those old blue haired ladies would have been in full cardiac arrest...we never knew what we were missing....

  • that was just effortlessly good

  • I remember this. Oh, this is vintage Ricky Dillard and New G. This was a gospel special that came on the television in the late 80s and around 1990 because his first album came out in 1991. Okay, I am telling my age now...lol. I have that one. This is the song that put Ricky Dillard on the map in gospel music.

  • This was in 1991 at Quinn Chapel in Chicago

  • Ricky is the Choir Master havnt seen one like him yet he has stood the test of time even back in the day his choir was singing kids under the floor lol

  • I come that you might have life more abundantly

I come that you might have life through eternity

I did not come to condemn the world

nor shame you for your wrong

but I've come to mend a broken heart and

to give your heart a song

I've come to give you life, I've come to give you joy, I've come to give you life more abundantly, MORE ABUNDANTLY!!!

  • SO BEAUTIFUL:D

  • those sopranos were wicked...

  • @nahfari im tellin you......they were sumn evil......

  • im going to see if we can sing this sunday

  • this is truly vintage......from way back in the gap.

  • THIS MUST BEEN HIS FRIST CHOIR

  • First Choir?

  • thats me in the soprano...BUT I COME TO MEND YOUR BROKEN HEART AND TO GIVE YOUR HEART A SONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

  • i come that u might i life more abumdantly

i did not come to condem the world

nor shame you for your wrong.

lord a come to mend the the broken heart and to give your haet a song. song song

i ve come to give u life i've come to give you joy

  • come that u might i life more abundantly

i come that u might i like through eternaty

i did not come to condem the world

nor shame you for your wrong.

lord a come to mend the the broken heart and to give your haet a song. song song

i ve come to give u life i've come to give you joy

  • our church youth choir tears that song up

  • Whew! That's all I can say. I really love Ricky Dillard and his chior. I enjoy the contemporary arangments, but Dillar always weaves in Traditional as well..this is one of those songs. Amazing. To correct the message at the very top: Dillard is an amazing director hands down, but we also have to recognize those directors that paved the way...Olanda Draper,Donnie Graves, James Hall, etc.

  • Aren't those ALL comptempories of Ricky?

  • he sho nuff paid his dues... he deserves his success!!!! and yes those who paved the way should neverrrrrr be forgotten ... olanda draper #1

  • ricky dillard is hands down the best choir director on the face of the earth!!!!1

  • u must be bored to make that comment

  • about hte hands down best choir director

  • lol very hard

  • Even though they were in the balcony, they still tore up. I think that them singing in the balcony was a good idea, it brought more excitement to the song and the people.

  • I always thought it was crazy that they were singing in the balcony!

  • me too

  • I was in New G at the time. Trust me, we didn't wanna be in the balcony, but Calvin Bridges insisted that his choir be on the stage, since he was the "name act". Patti wanted us on stage but Calvin won out

  • If you look at it from the beginning, Patti STARTED in the balcony with us....then she walked down to be on stage

  • I could have sworn I'd commented on this clip and can't find my comment anywhere. I love this song, always have. Its just funny watching this and thinking of how it was just yesterday, yet quite a while ago. Those sopranos were something else. LOL Its a completely different choir now yet Ricky still brings that authentic style that he is well known and respected for.

  • Believe me, when the word of God is being praised,...we all feel like dancing. Especially towards the end...the choir director gets all into it!

  • My church loves this song

  • This song will always be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate to come back for a second tyme but what i love about this song is that there eyes nvr leave ricky.and hes so graceful and crazy at the same tyme that while directs it looks like hes glidin across the floor...this is how church need to b again

  • WOW is this 1927? LOL! This song is still Hott tho!

  • lol.lol na its 1989 look at those glasses my god.this was the very first song i directed at 14 years old

  • Joy!!!

  • Can someone please tell me ONE word they are saying? I love gospel music like crazy, but that has always been my biggest complaint...we get so wrapped up in the beat...antics while singing....or theatrics...that we sometimes fail to effectively deliver the words of the song, the VERY thing in which we should listen to. I want to be able to feel the prescence of God when we cut away the tambourine...drums...organ...and dramatic director and all this is left are pure words.

  • I come that you might have lift more abundantly, I come that you might have life thru eternal .....

  • "I've come that you might have life more abundantly. I've come that you might have life through eternity. I did not come to condemn the world, or shame you for your wrong, but I came to mend your broken heart and to give your heart a song!" "I've Come to Come to Give You Life, I've Come to Give You JOY!!!! JOY!!" I hope that answers your question.

  • The one thing that Ricky Dillard and the New Generation Choir is known for is thier "Diction and Enunciation." So forgive me if I am left baffled at your difficulty in understanding what they are saying.

  • Now thats a choir!

  • were they singing on the bocany?

  • Awesome! You gotta dance on this one!! Thank you for posting!

  • Them SOPRANOS!!!

  • Thanks for posting!!! I remember watching this on TV. I miss these days!

  • I miss these days!

  • Dude the choir did good as a whole...but the sopranos stayed sharp almost the whole time. They still rocked the house tho.

  • I miss these dayz!!!

  • they even got little man in a choir robe, go on y'all

  • And he playin' that tambourine like it ain't no one's business!

  • ROTFL!!! He tore it up!

  • y'all be having some church up in chicago!!!

  • wow @ the sopranos

  • oh look at the saint they want it in service lolzzzzzzzz look at them glasses funny
