Ed , he did not lose "SOME" skill, he lost all skill, I loved Hart as a wrestler. his size and abilities were with Dynamite Kid, Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero the best I have seen in 60+ years of watching pro wrestling on TV or Live at arenas.

His getting in the ring endangered his health and others and there was no excuse for it other then ego as he didn't need the money.

His stroke totally destoried his wrestling ability, he never should have gotten in the ring for any match, PERIOD... even with help he didn't belong in the ring, the title change was a total joke as was the Wrestlemaina match and the crowd response showed it

If you go to Bret's website he talks how he will not defend the title cause he physically cannot. If you watch the video you will see that they hit Bret in the stomach then kick him in the side, avoiding his head. He had a stroke a few years back so there's no way he could do anything extreme. He is taking a job as the Raw manager. This is his last fight.

They don't show it in this video, but when I was watching RAW on Monday night, Bret slipped to his knees while climbing the ropes in the corner. Natalya, Tyson, and David had to hold him up.
