@Charette212 HI, seriously. I have. the corolla pushes 115kw at th fly wheel and comes with 6 speed LSD gearbox from the factory. the car has a KN filter, and lightened flywheel, and does a 1/4 mile of 14.84 seconds. not bad for a 1.6L norm asp engine!

I love VW engines, I love VW gearboxes (especially manuals) and I love VW quality. Plus they are really cracking to drive. They are expensive, but I would say it's worth it, IF you can afford the lump of money to buy one in the first place - the mileage and insurance is usually really good and they hold their value very well. But I just can't stand how conservative they look. Hell, a modern Mercedes looks revolting compared to a Golf or Passat. And that's the reason why I wouldn't buy one.

the suspension is the same except a little lower than the mk5 stock (mines 1.7in lowered on H&Rs) but you cannot fully disengage the stability control on the MKVI which is not my idea of a pure drivers car. i like to have all traction/stability off all the time... the looks of the car is another story i dont like the mk6 grille as much as the mk5 front end but the rear end and the interior of the mk6 are much nicer in quality but dont scream "GERMAN CAR" almost a little italian/japanese

Go for an '09 GTI with a DSG, sunroof but no Nav, (fit your own better system). There are some bargains out there and you might even get an extra £2,000 off for your old car if you do a deal before March 1st. VW spent years perfecting the Mk5 GTI, and you feel that when you drive it. It's does everything a car should, really well. 3dr looks better - 5dr more commodious.

Um. No. He's talking about the Civic Type-R. Which is essentially a street-legal, race-spec Civic. The GTI is more of a grand-touring hot hatch, then a complete all-out track-machine. The GTI has more torque and makes it at less than 2k RPM. The Type-R only has in the upper revs, unlike a REAL hot hatch, which should have power all over the tach.

i really like this car. i hope the sixth generation thats coming out fall 2009 has better reliability ratings. i used to not believe the reviews which constantly gave below average reliability to this car until i bought one in 2003. i must say that i have been somewhat disappointed with VW ever since my car was 3 years old its been having more problems than it should. i really want this to be my next car but if the reviews stay the same i wont make the same mistake of buying this car twice

and listen ive gone to the dealerships and driven everything speed 3 and civic si,let me break it down quick. speed3 very fast but not refined, chip in vw and ur taking the speed3 np plus monthly payments are insane, now the civic si shifts like butter i mean smooth like s2000 imo best shifting car and handles better but revs have to be high. the gti was def faster then the si, shifter was very nice but not as sweet. in the end ur getting an audi engine and tranny which will take a beating

type R's are ok but they're really more of a daily driver kind of car(as in you don't give a shit if it brakes its just another rust bucket) and dubs are more of a weekend car(as in it hurts to fuck it up) but i don't have a choice thats the only reason i use my R as a daily driver(cause i don't have a honda to bash) but i try to take as long as a brake from driving it as possible.
