It don´t takes a month to make dreads! Two of my cousins got dreads, and it tooked like three hours or so. When you are going to make dreadlocks there is many different methods, but none who takes a month to do... The longest method needs three to five years, and it´s that you simply don´t brush your hair in a couple years.

Actully, you don´t need to shave it. If you don´t wanna shave your hair off, you just use a special shampoo/gel that you put in your hair (dreads) And than you just brush it out :)
