  • Cool video and I like the sounds. If you're into Noise, I just finished up an album and it's now up on my Channel. I am looking for videos to accompany my pieces too, I don't know if you're busy with film professionally and have no time for me, or if you're a hobbyist and just looking around for sounds to put in your videos, but I volunteer my tracks if they're of any interest. I don't have any video gear yet...

  • whats the best Professional mini Dv Tapes for the HV40? Or which do you use?

  • @realsaucyent I just picked up whatever was available at my local store :P. I have tried both JVC and Sony HDV brands and I have had less drop outs from the JVC

  • ok so I'm new to this, and I am going to start making my own short films, and I want something that looks amazing for a decent price. What kind of camera would you suggest, and also how does the canon hv40 connect to the lap top? What kind of editing software do you suggest also? Thanks I hope to hear from you! Great vid by the way!!!

  • how do you do the stop motion for this becuase I may think about getting this camera to do a tetsuo test myself.

  • @zeedog14 Well, basically what I did was take small metal bars and stick them into a block of Styrofoam to keep them in place. I then weaved more bars throughout those to give the appearance that they cover the screen. Then I took steel wool and covered the bars with it. Once that was done I had my starting image, then I removed small wads of steel wool one at a time. Each time taking an image. Once I got down to the bars I then did the same with those, removed them one a time hope this helps

  • @brendanpr21 okay thanks :)

  • Dude, that was good !

  • ...Nice work, man!!

I want to get an HV40 to video my Photo sessions, I'm a Photographer.

I'm new on this, what Software you recomend me for color correction and editing?

  • @netofujarte I personally use Sony Vegas Pro, I have only used Adobe Premiere otherwise. From what I have heard Final Cut Pro is the way to go if you have a Mac. Otherwise I would recommend Sony Vegas

  • This is simply amazing. I wish you had more views.

  • Hi. This is very good work and great lighting. I am in the process of getting a HV40 and am trying out black and white noir textures. However, I am new to lighting. If its ok with you could you just explain the lighting method for this film. Thanks.

  • Nice, I wish I had a camera as nice as yours.

Where'd you get this song? It's not one the Tetsuo Soundtrack :(

  • Great stuff, Brendan! It reminds me some of the look and mood of Nine Inch Nails clips and the film SE7VEN opening credits. Your use of moving lights is daring, rare to see around here. You could shorten it though. Keep shooting!

  • This is a piece of art, thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you, that means a lot to me. I have some more shorts up if you care to check out my channel :)

  • Yes, I've been looking at your stuff (and saving the videos in HD in my computer.) What I don't get is that this video gets 3 1/2 stars when you have plenty of crap (some mine) that gets 5 stars. Good job, I haven't seen anyone use the HV40 like this. You should head over to hv20-dot-com and post some of your footage over there. A lot of good folks in that forum.
