the house was bad! we wet it down and it kept flaring up! I cant say if the home was a total loss or not but if somone could rebuild it I would be impressed! we saved the 85k Infiniti in the drive way, a few firefighters got overheated and dehydrated, none of the surrounding houses were damaged or the Marina and the boats in the water. All of us volunteers worked together and minimized the damage as best as possible and got to go home to our familys!
it does look like a total loss from this angle, but I was on scene while it was dark helping with cleanup and i guess some parts were saved? it was a little dark to see, but I just get a little offended when people say that it takes a long time for us to get there, but theres just a lot involved that people don't know about...but I totally understand that it feels like forever when you can't do anything
yes....because I'm sure that the people who called the fire in were in hysterics.theres 1 or two min right there...then sending out the tones and fighting through traffic takes at least two min and I'm sure that even before it was dispatched the house was going good, and I don't think the first trucks on scene were @ 7 min into the video because I remember hearing sirens a while ago, so I think the other ones you hear at 7min are the mutual aid towns, not sure though because I can't see the road
@610atc another prick, maybe we should have pissed on it or thrown fish at it. it was an iphone and brian did a hell of a job filming that fire, it will probably be of some use to the firemarshal who I know has seen it by now. there were two 1000 lb propane tanks on that property, it was dangerous for the whole neighborhood. the only problem here is you.
the house wasn't a total lose most of the damage was to the water side of the building and the wrap around deck ,al lthat black smoke was the vinal siding on the building, the two car garage didnt get touched at all the the fire dept made a hell of a stop, considering the water problems they had
first of all why don't you think about all that goes into a response time....the dispatcher has to deal with a hysterical caller which takes time...then they have to send out tone and we as VOLUNTEERS drop everything we are doing...fight our way through traffic to get the trucks then fight our way through traffic AGAIN to get the scene..and you are in the water therefor you can't see whats going on near the house..not only that but the new construction is light and burns FAST
@fd667 I know ,we couldnt believe how fast it went from a grill fire to engulfing the whole house, we had never seen anything like that before, I know how far it is from the firehouse, and that you have to drop what you are doing to get to the firehouse and get the gear. when you are just sitting there helplessly watching that beautiful house go up like we were, it seems like a long time goes by, but it was mere minutes, the whole house was gone in less than twenty minutes. there was no chance
@coltondelaney Exactly..gone in minutes...those were probably the minutes where everyone was fighting through traffic because no one believes in pulling over..and if thats a lightweight truss house the only thing holding it together was glue to begin with..and that burns a lot faster then older homes with solid wood, also take into account moisture in the air, wind etc. that accounts for fire spread
wow Volunteers come from all over the shoreline and leave there familes and jobs to go and help you out when needed and your going to bash there response time because there not there with in 6 mins. Now with that said from the time you called it in and the dispatcher actually toned it out there was probably a 2 min delay. so 6 mins is a great response. so join a local firedepartment and learn what it takes! and next time your recording tell your buddies to keep it down!
jd another prick who wasnt there. and who didnt read or watch the video then chimes in with their "what about the baby seals?" reteric. what makes you tick? you freaken demacrat. get your facts straight. it was like 9 minutes which we said is an awesome response time, (7 to 9 is their average time )especially with all they have to do to get there safely. now go save a dolphin.
Brian g you got a lot of balls criticizing the fire dept and the efforts they put into fighting this fire i dunno what experience you have or what you do but i think your a total shit head along with the rest of your douchbag buddies on your boat
if you listen we commend the response time. when you are there which you were not, it seems like a long time, it was only 7 or 8 minutes. we came on a fire ,filmed it and talked about it, amongst ourselves. hey jack ass, just look at the video thats what this is about the tragic loss of a beautiful home. take your comments about us and stick them up your ass. Ill see you around cause I know who you are you prick.

maybe you should take a look at the waterside of the house, it sure looks like it will be a total loss from there. luckily no one was home.
