@SynGatesFan777 yea thats what happened on mine too :'( ,i was expecting that Facebook will recognized this mobile and when we update status will says "Update Via N900" but all i see is "Update via MobilePhone"

One thing i cant figure out is if this thing stays online when the phone is idle. Can you set an away message or do you disconnect completely from im services when the phone is idle or the app isnt open before the phone is idle?

From what Peter says adding *integrated* support for MSN, Yahoo, ICQ etc should be relatively straightforward.

Collabora will be releasing plugins to allow integrated MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Facebook, etc... Twitter is also possible as I have shown on Diablo (and sent along to them).

I have the n810. I'm assuming the apps for the n900 will have more professional/working apps. the rubbish I had to go through with the n810 just to get a reliable/working msn client was just ridiculous. hope the aps for the n900 will meet my needs.

Well, it depends on your network provider. Believe me, the providers have realized the same thing you have. I'm in the states and most providers here actually block Skype traffic on their network. Still, it's quite useful on WiFi.
Maemo is basically a mobile version of Debian Linux. Pidgin is a great Linux app for IM. It supports MSN nicely.
