  • This was a very entertaining commercial. But what I find the most intersting is that Not once did they show any stock! A shoe commercial and no shoes shown. :/

  • does anyone know what happened to Ken Berry? kinney's shoes went out of business here in the early nineties..i remember i got my first pair of platforms from kinney's shoes and i was 12 years old in 1977...those were good times..

  • allan thicke had to be doing the voice over

  • Unbelievable to me to see Ken Berry singing and dancing. He is awesome in these! I only knew him from Mama's Family. And he played such a "schlub" on it. My mom always said she hated him. I hated him on Mama's Family too...such talent seen in these commercials though!

  • lol, i only watched this because i am doing a english prodject and i wanted to find out about the kind of shoes people wore in 1975.

  • Awww..remember Kinney Shoes Store? My mom would take us 4 kids there and we'd all sit down and have our feet measured by the sales rep and be embarrassed if we had a hole in our sock. Nowadays you do all the shoe sizing yourself. It's funny how so much has changed in 35 years. It's sad... Thanks for this post though. It's awesome.

  • @TheWinkBoss Thanks for taking us back to the real Kinney experiences...

  • LOL I remember Ken Berry from Mama's Family!

  • Yummy Yummy Yummy!! Ken Berry is still a cutie. Does anyone know if he ever recorded records? Solo artist, that is.

  • Yes, I remember these...Ken was always a dancer, even in the days when he was part of the "Billy Barnes Revue" in L.A. in the late '50s.

  • ps: great dancing by Ken Berry!

  • great post! remember this ad campaign, but the disco ending seems like it might have come from later in the decade when disco became more mainstream. Loved my Kinney's NBA shoes when I was a kid: had all the teams around the edge of the soles. very cool for a 2nd grader.

  • As an employee of several of the Kinney divisions - thanks for this posting! Your link is being e-mailed to other employees of the now defunct Kinney Shoes. I am sure they will all enjoy it.

  • groverd: I think the commercials are late 1970's rather than 1975.

  • @heine71 agreed! i think it would be next to impossible to convey disco to ken berry in 1975

  • Hahahaha!! No wonder I haven't been able to find this for ages. I thought Bill Bixby was the pitchman. Thanks for posting!

  • Ken Berry was a rare talent in these commercials. Today, doing TV ads are so beneath many of today's stars.

  • Ken is so awesome!

  • What a talent! And I just thought he was some goofball from Mamas Family!

  • @anynamewilldo500 OMG that is him LMAO!

  • @Ladiespetmansthreat he also took over for Andy Griffith when he finally left Mayberry...Mr. Barry's role was Sam and he was the county assessor. The show was Mayberry, RFD

  • It was a scary commercial then and it still is now...

  • I am so old that when I see Ken Berry I think of F Troop ["while pinning it on,some blood was spilled and so it was planned he'd command F TROOP!!]

  • OMG!! I loved these commercials. I miss the 70's.

  • Those where the days.

  • its vint from mamas family omg...i knew he could dance...he was on the brady bunch once as a guy called mr kelly and adopted a black a chinese and white kid...he was showing them soft shoe tap

  • I never realized how talented Ken Berry is. The disco scene was pretty smooth!

  • Ken Berry dances and sings disco for Kinney shoes!

  • All of you type in the search box for UNKNOWN SPANISH COMMERCIALS from user TVNETWORKS. The second ad, after the animated one, is a Kinney Shoe Store ad made for Puerto Rico and uses the same jingle you hear here.

  • 1920's, 1940's, 1960's, and 1970's.

  • Wow, these commercials showed Ken Berry was quite a dancer. And to think most people only remember him from F Troop or maybe Mama's Family.

  • Ken was gifted in so many ways. Maybe the only thing that stood between him and major stardom was his modest personality. During the few days we worked on these commercials, there didn't appear to be an ambitious bone in his body. Doing a good job was good enough for him. Whaddaguy.

  • Mayberry RFD. saw him in person at Harrah's in Reno back around 1980.

  • you must see clem astaire!!!! WOW!!!

  • One ad campaign where the company actually got COMPLAINTS from the public when they ended it! They had to bring hem back.

  • Bless you ... for posting this. These commercials were awesome.
